Under direct supervision of the Country Director (CD), the Coordination & Liaison Officer will work to support the following:

  • Support Country Director in efficient and adaptive coordination and liaison internally and externally.
  • Desk Research on various issues as requested by CD
  • Preparing high quality short reports that may be targeted for both internal and external audiences of CARE Bangladesh

The self-motivated and creative Coordination & Liaison Officer should have the following skills:

  • Excellent inter-team coordination and collaboration skills
  • Prompt quality communication skills
  • Ability to help manage many ongoing initiatives
  • Good research and writing skills

The position will contribute to CARE's work in Bangladesh and will support the Country Program's work through providing support to CD in creating a synchronized coordination between various team, in conducting Desk Research on various aspects of programs and program support, develop high quality internal and external reports.
The Coordination & Liaison Officer position is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Some travel may be required to field locations.

II. Responsibilities and Tasks:

Responsibility # 1: Team Coordination and Liaising

50%

  • Assist CD in coordinating with the country office Senior Management Team (SMT), Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and different internal CO level teams, and international teams and stakeholders to support the CD to manage agile, seamless and responsive communication and follow up.
  • Support the CD in managing CO level Follow up plans and Action Logs by coordinating with different teams.
  • Support CD to ensure Country Management/Country Office level communications are responsive and managed with quality.
  • Support Country level Townhall meetings organization along with Strategic Communication Unit.
  • Assist CD in coordinating and tracking different event calendars and leave trackers. Shadow and support important visibility events with donors and partners.
  • Regular coordination on behalf of CD for scheduling meetings, events.
  • Managing CD's calendar, including making appointments and helping prioritizing the most time sensitive matters.
  • Coordinate and act as the point of contact among team members, external partners, -important guests, and international visitors as and when advised by CD.
  • Liaise with different program and program support teams and link with Strategic Communication Unit in preparing and developing communication materials for local and international public relations.

 

Responsibility # 2: Documentation, Research and Program development

  • Support CD and SMT to organize the Country Office CANVAS and CO Dashboard follow up meetings and reporting.
  • Provide support to CD in preparation of briefing and/or position papers, letters program or project-specific presentations for internal and external engagements.
  • Conduct literature review, research, and data analysis on CARE's and national and international policy and strategies, existing projects/ programs, and potential future programming.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of program and project updates at a shared system with CD.
  • Generate new ideas and concepts for expanding programs in key areas of need.
  • Work with program departments, participate in program meetings and workshops and other program related events such as reviews, proposal development process in order to gain deeper program insights and understanding.

 

Responsibility # 3: Support in Event Celebration and Others

15%

  • Support and coordinate official Event Celebration as requested by CD.
  • Undertake any other official duties as assigned by CD, such as during crises, emergencies and other major events

 

Responsibility # 4 Adhere to and support CARE Bangladesh’s Safety and Security policy and systems

As part of this role, the job holder will be expected to adhere to and support CARE Bangladesh’s Safety and Security policy and systems as part of their day to day duties, and comply, at all times, to safety & security protocols and directives, including reporting. Staff must maintain situational and self – awareness and be aware of the safety – security related consequences of their actions upon themselves, their team and the organization as a whole.

Based in CARE Bangladesh Dhaka Office with approximately 10% time travel in field

V. Qualification:
  • Masters in development/Social Studies or a similar field.
  • At least 1 to 2 years' practical experience the working in development field with NGO.
  • Proven experience of high-quality report writing.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Good Facilitation and interpersonal Skills.
  • Familiar with the project management cycle.
  • Ability to act as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate.
  • Ability to cope with stress, work under pressure often to strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, sense of humor, and patience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Methodical and thorough.
  • Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences, having full alignment with organizational values.
  • Good knowledge and competence of computer applications i.e. Microsoft Office.
