The purpose of the role is to drive programme development, innovation and resourcing in Bangladesh and across Asia in coordination with the country programme team and programme development and funding colleagues in Christian Aid. The post will be responsible for working closely with the PDFM AME, and PFD Head of Region, supporting in leading programme funding in Bangladesh and across the region, raising and managing restricted institutional income to achieve transformational growth in country and across the region. The post holder will work closely with Bangladesh and AME Country Teams to initiate new donor engagements and sustain relationships with current donors; to coordinate development of funding applications; and, to advise and provide support on delivery of on-going contracts ensuring compliance with donors’ and Christian Aid’s regulations. The role is a member of Programme Funding Asia and Middle Team within the global Programme Funding Unit. This role is expected to support and work closely with PDFM AME and engage at strategic levels both at global, country and corporate levels and will be critical to supporting Country Managers and country teams in representing the organization to donors and other external stakeholders, and to improving Christian Aid’s global, AME wide and in-country visibility.
About you
- Support PDFM & Bangladesh country team in having a programme funding strategy and plan based on Bangladesh country programme strategy, business plans and growth model.
- Support Bangladesh country team in project design, development and innovation support on all donor bids (institutional government, trusts and foundations, private sector) in Bangladesh and in Asia& Middle East region as required.
- Support Bangladesh country team in ensuring end-to-end quality proposal delivery responding to both published and unsolicited opportunities.
- Support Bangladesh country team in providing on-going leadership on new proposals; assembling and managing proposal development teams; taking responsibility for high quality proposals that respond to donors’ criteria. Support PDFM and country team, in donor relationship engagement, management and coordination with all donors.
- Support PDFM and country team in gathering intelligence about upcoming opportunities; develop and share opportunity-specific competitive intelligence analysis, funding opportunity risk assessment, facilitate Go/No Go decisions, due diligence assessment and support Country Directors in deciding on consortia formulation.
- Support country team in ensuring effective contract management, reporting and compliance of all donor contracts and restricted income portfolio in Bangladesh.
- Support head of programme funding AME in providing surge support on development and humanitarian projects and bids across Asia Middle East.
- Carry-out post-bidding debrief and lead post-award negotiations, working closely with PDFM and Country team.
- Support country team in monitoring programme quality, progress, performance, financial and operations compliance as per Christian Aid and donor general and specific /special conditions and contractual obligations.
- Support country team in ensuring quality programme narrative and financial reporting as per donor schedule.
- Support country team in coordinating and skilfully handle internal and external donor audit and monitoring missions with programme, finance and operations teams in-country and HQ level
If you are able to full fill the following requirements, then this job is for you;
- University degree or equivalent in business, economics, international relations, development studies, environmental management, agronomy or a relevant subject.
- Knowledge and experience record on the design, development and contract management of development and humanitarian projects.
- Successful track record with institutional donors including UK FCDO, European Union and UN agencies including UNOPS, WFP, IOM, UN Women.
- Significant and proven experience of successful bid leadership across development and/or humanitarian grants.
- Outstanding communication and networking skills for relationship building and facilitation, including consortium development.
- Excellent writing skills and in-depth understanding of international development, specifically development and humanitarian context in Bangladesh.
- High level of numeracy and understanding of financial controls and procedures. • Project Cycle Management and monitoring, evaluation and learning methodologies.
