About the Role

The Civil Engineer is required to take lead under the camps of WFP DRR project focusing on the technical aspects of pre and post-monsoon preparedness and emergency-based structural mitigation interventions. The specific areas of engagement are -

  • To provide leadership in technical aspects of structural mitigation interventions with a view to ensure high-quality construction work in the camps.
  • To develop Auto-CAD designs, BOQs, drawings and specifications; manage coordination with stakeholders, and supervise all construction work.
  • To provide technical support in the procurement of materials.

About you

To be successful in this position, the candidate must have a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institution with 3 years of relevant work experience in rural and remote areas. Sound knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Has to experience in camp rehabilitation and site development work is an advantage. Candidate working experience with International Organizations and/or NGOs is an advantage. Have a working experience in Cox’s Bazar in building structural design, computer-aided drawing, and common engineering-related software is a plus. Working experience in the Rohingya camps will be an advantage. Ability to deal with stress and occasional long working hours. Flexibility and adaptability
