“Promoting women’s leadership through partnerships with women-led and women’s rights organizations in Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience Building” project aims to enhance capacity of women led civil society organizations to build climate and disaster resilient communities in selected most disaster-prone districts e.g. Khulna, Satkhira, Cox’s Bazar, Jamalpur and Kurigram, funded by UN WOMEN. Project started 18th February 2020 and will end 31 May 2021.   

Objectives of the project

Principal objective: To build organizational capacity and climate resilience communities of 56 women led CSOs in targeted 5 districts.

Specific objective: Develop 9 different types of training modules and trained 25 trainers’ from amongst 56 women led CSOs and building capacity of 56 CSOs on climate and disaster resilience communities.

Result 1: Develop and printing of 9 different types of training modules and trained 25 trainers to be used for training others.

Result 2: Capacity building of 56 women led CSOs on climate change and disaster risk reduction.

Result 3: Emergency preparedness of 36 schools and 6 health facilities across target wards is improved.

Result 4: Emergency response/support on the occasion of disaster hits in any of the mentioned 5 districts with the help of women led CSOs.

Purpose of the work:

The UN Women project will end on 31st May 2021. Purposes as follows:

  • To capture the outputs (both reports and photos) of upzill level networking workshops (6 in 6 upzills)
  • To share intervention, success and learning of the courtyard screening of communication materials among wider audience
  • Interview participating communities’ women and other vulnerable segments and capture their immediate reaction and learning from these screening and video shows

 
How to apply:
