We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to lead product design and development for footwear and accessories. The ideal candidate will oversee the full product development lifecycle—from concept to final delivery–ensuring alignment with brand vision, market trends, and customer expectations.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams (design, sourcing, production, and quality), supplier coordination, and timely execution of high-quality, market-relevant products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the entire design process for seasonal collections—from concept, sketching, and sampling to final product delivery.
• Create detailed design specifications including sketches, technical drawings, and material selections.
• Ensure seasonal design requirements are fulfilled and create designs accordingly that suits.
• Fully understand the brand requirements and create artworks accordingly.
• Collaborate with design, merchandising, and marketing teams to align product concepts with brand strategies.
• Participate in development meetings to finalize design feasibility, timelines, and sample approvals.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure proper execution of design ideas.
• Develop and present designs using Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, and other design tools—along with hand-drawn sketches as required.
• Ensure all technical aspects are accurately defined: colors, textures, materials, measurements, and specifications.
• Create seasonal trend and concept boards, ensuring a continuous pipeline of new product ideas.
• Conduct market research and monitor international design trends and techniques.
• Oversee sample development stages—prototype, fitting, marketing, size sets—ensuring quality and consistency with approved samples.
• Maintain accurate records and processes related to design, sampling, consumption, BOM, pricing, swatches, trim cards, and execution tracking.
• Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure proper material alignment and timely production flow.
• Work closely with the quality control team to ensure compliance with brand standards; set corrective and preventive actions where needed.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and order terms to ensure cost efficiency.
• Monitor order placement, production status, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Track and report sample and production progress, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
• Communicate product updates and timelines to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Prepare regular performance reports related to sales, inventory, and vendor efficiency.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Strong creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proven experience in factory/vendor management, including audits, performance tracking, and problem resolution.
• Strong negotiation and cost optimization skills, especially in technical product areas.
• Proficient in sample development, cost breakdowns, and product spec creation.
• Ability to work closely with design, sourcing, production, and QA teams.
• Solid understanding of footwear and accessories design, pattern making, fitting, grading, and manufacturing standards.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Leather Technology, Footwear Engineering or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in product design and development in footwear and accessories.
