Consultancy for Developing the Communication Policy of Breaking the Silence (BTS)

1. Background

Since its inception in 1994, Breaking the Silence (BTS) has grown from a pioneering initiative addressing child sexual abuse into a nationally recognized rights-based organization working across child protection, gender equality, youth development, climate resilience, civic engagement, and community health. Guided by a rights-based, gender-responsive, and safeguarding-centered approach, BTS has expanded its work throughout Bangladesh, earning strong credibility among communities, civil society, and development partners.

As BTS continues to expand its programs and partnerships, the organization faces increasing requirements for consistent, ethical, and professional communication and visibility practices. BTS projects, supported by several national and international development partners, frequently produce reports, IEC materials, social media content, event communication, and donor visibility materials. However, BTS does not yet have a unified, organization-wide Visibility and Branding to guide:

  • Standardized use of BTS branding and identity
  • Donor visibility across platforms
  • Ethical storytelling and safeguarding in communication
  • Template and design consistency
  • Reputational risk management
  • Digital communication standards

To ensure coherent, strategic, and rights-based communication across all programs, BTS seeks to hire an external consultant to develop a comprehensive communication policy.
