Breaking the Silence (BTS) is a non-profit, non-political organization which began its journey in 1994 with the aim of stopping sexual abuse of children and creating a secure and child-friendly environment in Bangladesh. The organization is going to implement a project named ‘Accessing Learning Opportunities to the Young Adolescents and Livelihood Options for Women (ALOY-ALOW)’ at Sreemangal and Kamolganj under Moulvibazar district. The project will be implemented by the support of ‘Education and Development Foundation-Educo’ and financed by ‘Child Fund Korea’. Tenure of Services Contract 3 (Three ) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till project’s lifetime.

Job summary:

Project Manager, as a leader of implementation team of Aloy Alow project will ensure the quality of the activities delivered by providing technical and supervisory support. He/she will facilitate the process of capacity enhancement of the project staff, community mobilization and maintaining good relationship with all relevant stakeholders to obtain necessary resources. He/she will be vigilant on the budget spending against progress.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate PO and Community Mobilizer of project to establish necessary nos. of ECD and Pre-school keeping appropriate information of the beneficiaries. He/she will facilitate capacity enhancement of PO, ECD facilitator and Community Mobilizer.
  • Enhance capacity of primary school teacher and SMC and contribute in promoting quality education in the primary school of garden and Haor. Facilitate SMC, teachers and student council in producing/reviewing school development plan for primary school.
  • Establish a reporting mechanism by ensuring regular flow of data and information from the field.
  • Maintain strong relation with Tea garden Authorities, Govt. department, UP and Panchayat to ensure their participation in the project.
  • Coordinate with GO, NGO and CSOs to ensure their stakes in the process.
  • Ensure parenting sessions are conducted as regular basis to enhance knowledge of mother of each ECD centre.
  • Promote child protection in the community by empowering UP authorities.
  • Ensure implementation of activities in the communities as per project plan.

Essential qualifications

Education: Postgraduate from reputed university in Social science/ Education/ Development Studies. Educational qualification will be considered with the experienced person
Work experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Programme preferably in a National / International NGO.
  • Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents.
  • Proven working experience of quality primary education, child rights and protection, Community Engagement, WASH, youth engagement, Livelihood.
  • Proven background of facilitating training related to ECD and primary education.
Knowledge and Practice
  • Child rights-based approach
  • Country's related policies and laws,
  • Well acquainted about local government structure and their services
Languages Bangla & English (Speaking, Listening and Writing)
Office Software MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
