Job Summary:
The position is responsible for managing tax compliance, VAT matters, withholding tax calculations, regulatory reporting, and coordination with government authorities. The role also includes handling tax-related accounting in ERP and supporting banking transactions of all payments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Deduction & VAT Compliance
- Calculate and process TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on vendor and contractor invoices (both local and foreign).
- Calculate and process VDS (VAT Deducted at Source) on vendor and contractor payments (local and foreign).
- Ensure proper deduction and compliance as per applicable tax and VAT regulations.
- Prepare and submit WHT (Withholding Tax) Returns as per statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit VAT Returns in accordance with prevailing regulations.
- Prepare statutory VAT documents including Mushok 6.3 and 6.6.
- Output VAT adjustments with sales ledger.
2. Accounting & ERP Management
- Record and manage TDS and VDS transactions in the Odoo ERP system.
- Maintain USD ledger accounts with proper accounting of foreign exchange (FX) gain/loss adjustments.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of tax-related accounts.
3. Regulatory & Government Liaison
- Communicate and coordinate with DCT (Deputy Commissioner of Taxes), NBR (National Board of Revenue), and VAT authorities regarding compliance, submissions, and clarifications.
- Handle tax assessments, notices, and related correspondence when required.
4. Banking & Payment Processing
- Initiate and manage online banking transactions through HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).
- Process salary tax payments and ensure timely deposit to government authorities.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with all tax-related payments.
- Direct Debit Instruction is initiated with HSBC.
- Sound knowledge of BFTN and RTGS Payment.
- Bank reconciliation statement for HSBC, SCB, Sonali Bank.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax and VAT laws and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably Odoo).
- Sound understanding of foreign currency transactions and FX adjustments.
- Good communication skills for dealing with regulatory authorities.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- High level of integrity and compliance mindset.
- Should have good Speaking and reading ability in English.
Required Education and experience:
- B. Com Hons & master's in accounting (Preferred Public University)
- CA CC from a reputed CA Firm Or Part qualifies from ICMАВ.
- Income Tax Practitioner (ITP) is highly recommended.
- At least 6 Years of working experience in an organization maintaining 100% compliance with Tax and vat regulation.
