BRC is one of the longest-term partners of BDRCS, having been in-country supporting bilateral programs since 2006 in the areas of early recovery and integrated resilience programming. BRC is also a major contributor to multi-lateral response mechanisms in the country. Our team is composed of Delegates and national staff working closely with BDRCS to deliver programs in Dhaka, Barisal and Teknaf.

Overall, the Purpose of the Post
The post of the Programme Officer – Climate Change, will be responsible for providing programmatic, coordination and administration support to the Climate Change Program in Narayanganj.
This position will be part of the BRC Bangladesh team, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, knowledgeable individual with sound practical judgement.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Programmatic Management Support
- In close coordination with BDRCS, support the development, monitoring and coordination of the programme’s work plans and budgets
- Supports the development of program management tools under the supervision of the BRC Program Coordinator and guidance of BRC colleagues as relevant
- Supports the preparation of reports, case studies communication materials and other program documentation
- Manages the day-to-day programme support to BDRCS, maintaining close liaison with BRC counterparts.
- Represents BRC in programme meetings and external events as needed.
- Provide technical backstopping support to BDRCS whenever necessary and or required.
- Ensures the maintenance of proper documentation of programme activities
2. Programmatic Administration:
- Facilitate all Administrative support required by the program. Serves as the primary contact regarding administrative task assignments and carries out administrative tasks as required to facilitate an efficient working environment.
- Supports organisation of internal meetings, set agendas, takes notes, coordinates with team members, and relevant stakeholders and counterparts to follow up and ensure completion of agreed action points.
- Provides logistical, administrative and financial arrangements, and coordinates with relevant BRC and BDRCS staff and counterparts for the organisation of program meetings, workshops and events.
- Ensures all BDRCS Staff and volunteers involved in the project complete all mandatory courses and provides the necessary support to complete the said courses, in coordination with BDRCS counterparts.
- Facilitates all procurement requirements of the project in coordination with BRC and BDRCS logistics staff.
- Ensures all programme documents are filed and maintained properly in BRC’s intranet (PIMS) and Teams as required.
3. Communications and relationship management
- Maintains professional and respectful relations with the BDRCS at HQ and Unit level to facilitate smooth partnerships.
- Maintains professional relationships with other movement partners, including IFRC to facilitate effective coordination of project methodologies and associated training activities.
- Shares information proactively about the programme with key stakeholders in coordination with the BRC Programme Coordinator and BDRCS counterparts.
4. Others
- Upholds the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and works within the Society’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Undertakes any other tasks as required by the BRC Programme Coordinator and or BRC Country Manager.
