Brac University School of Data & Sciences Search for faculty

Brac University is a leading private university in Bangladesh. We are seeking to bring extremely bright and promising senior and junior faculty to the School of Data & Sciences which houses the computer science and mathematical, biological, environmental and statistical science programs. The school serves about 8000 undergraduates and postgraduates. Recent senior hires include faculty who were postdocs at Harvard and Princeton. Recent junior hires are for example former participants in International Mathematics, Physics and other Olympiads. The school has a wide range of students, ranging from medalists in the International Informatics Olympiad to students who are energetic but inexperienced with computers. In order to develop this talent and solve fundamental problems and practical problems relevant to Bangladesh’s development, we seek to attract highly motivated and promising new faculty.

Academic Positions and Respective Qualifications
We invite candidates in computer science, biological sciences including neuroscience and bioengineering, statistics, climate and environmental sciences and physics and mathematics. Senior faculty should be research focused and be willing to lead and build research groups in their fields. They should be familiar with the latest research in their field and have well-cited publications.

Junior faculty should have demonstrated outstanding academic performance either through competitions, research, applications built, or academic results. Junior faculty must be very proactive and eager to contribute to building their department’s capacity in terms of service to students and faculty, and/or mentoring students. Non-engineering lecturers must have a postgraduate degree, and computer science graduates must be willing to enroll in a postgraduate program as a faculty member.

We also seek to attract practitioners with substantial experience in computer science, hardware, and biological and climate sciences. The rank awarded will depend on experience and accomplishments and will not be limited by academic qualifications.

Candidates with prior experience of research and/or teaching at reputed institutes are highly valued.
