Search for Associate Dean

Brac University is looking to appoint an associate dean to assist in the development of a recently formed Graduate School of Management in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The school is expected to be pivotal for introducing world-class management education in the South Asian country which is experiencing economic growth at a remarkable rate over the past 5 years. The associate dean will have a unique opportunity to help develop an enduring vision for advancing management scholarship and effective pedagogy in a frontier market.

The university was established by BRAC, the world’s largest non-governmental organization that has positively impacted the lives of millions. Recognizing the value of highly relevant and flexible academic programs that can improve the global competitiveness of local industries, the university has set a goal to establish a graduate business school that will foster both high impact research and successful knowledge transfer. The GSM’s mission if one of embracing sustainability and entrepreneurship while educating managers and executives in a busy Asian capital city.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Dean and assisting in working toward realizing the vision of the university, the associate dean will manage the day-to-day operations of the school under the guidance of the Executive Dean. GSM is noted for its well-established MBA and EMBA programs, its ever-increasing recognition in Bangladesh and beyond, and its growth in terms of faculty and research.

Requirements:
The associate dean will be an established faculty member demonstrating the ability to understand the requirements of a faculty member in terms of teaching, research and service, the needs of students, and have a track record of success in administrative leadership positions. The successful applicant must have credentials and qualifications to be appointed to a position of associate professor.
