BRAC International is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:

Manager, Cloud Infrastructure, IT, BRAC International

The Cloud Infrastructure Manager's role is to plan, organize, and manage resources and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of BRAC International (BI) IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, system integrations, telecommunications systems and website management. This position manages a highly diverse staff that is responsible for providing infrastructure architecture, design and implementation in support of business initiatives. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds and maintains a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the operational lifecycle.
  • Drive the scalability, performance optimization, high availability, upgrades and obsolescence management of all systems and networks across the enterprise.
  • Proactively perform operational management of the cloud and computing environments. Oversee and prioritize associated day-to-day operational activities.
  • Manages the cloud deployment and oversee Infrastructure aspects of all BI IT projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, maintains, and continuously improves building, packaging, and deployment processes.
  • Identity and access, Email management for BRAC International head office and all country users.
  • Implements automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security and monitoring tools.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards across the systems and network teams. Develop and implement IT Business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
  • Manage internal and third-party system integrations through API and insure interoperability across different platforms.
  • Participate business requirements analysis, handle change request, execute user acceptation Test (UAT) and ensure release as per plan and business requirements for assigned countries.
  • Infrastructure management for the Mastercard AIM project deliverables for all BI countries
  • Prepare and deploy development, testing and production environment using open-source toolkit for data collection, reporting and analysis (e.g. Kobo toolbox, dimagi, openproject, DIHS2 etc.)
  • Current and multiyear infrastructure budget Preparation and cost control. Responsible to negotiate and manage SLA and vendor contracts.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration across technical disciplines as well as across business units.
  • Train Head office and country users and build backup cloud infrastructure resources.
  • Prepare and distribute adhoc/customized reports for stakeholders.

Website Maintenance

  • Ensure the BRAC International and its subsidiary entities websites are up and running efficiently.
  • Regular patch management, upgrade software versions and plugins used for the website
  • Ensure all integrations with BRAC internal and external sites are working properly.
  • Assistance with server manage on quarterly basis: ideally it will be around scripting, spam, plugins and site configuration so that the site is well managed.
  • Security & SSL management, alert on security issues and regularly apply updates.
  • Fix dead links and errors, missing images, unanswered feedback etc.
  • Search engine optimization.
  • Regular backups of the site and ensure backup sets are okay for restoration.
  • Produce various weekly reports and analytics as per BI Comms team requirements.
  • Co-ordinate with web content upload, site development and revamp activities.

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science/Computer Engineering concentrating on Software Engineering/Database Management

Required Competencies

  • Sound knowledge on infrastructure management, system design and network architecture.
  • Linux and/or Windows OS
  • ITIL & IT project Management 
  • SOA, microservices and serverless computing
  • Dockers/container management, CI/CD, code commit, code star or similar tools
  • Wordpress, Javascript, REACT and Angular J/S 

Experience Requirements:

  • Five years plus working with AWS or similar cloud services.
  • Experience with network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations, and security protocols
  • Software Development and IT Service Management experience in large organization
  • Experience in database management system and disaster recovery
  • Experience with scope documents, use case, test case and UML design
  • Test and training system deployment and descaling.
  • Experience in data centre management, website development and maintenance will be advantageous.
