Head of Business Planning & Analysis

We are looking for an insightful and analytical leader to head up our Business Finance & Planning team. As a team, there is plenty of collaboration opportunities and to take ownership of and deliver projects performance. This role will report to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic and financial planning processes (e.g. monthly business reviews, forecasts, budgets and subsidiary performance & consolidation);
  • Complete the implementation of financial & non-financial tools and reports that identify key business drivers and associated KPIs that guide management decision making and contribute to strategy formulation. Continually seek better ways to convert financial/non-financial data into intelligence that feeds improved business performance;
  • Measure progress against key objectives and present findings and recommendations to senior management;
  • Analytics and preparation of Management Committee packs and Board packs;
  • Assist in external reporting in particular with Annual Report, Interim Management Statements and investor relations presentations;
  • Development and analysis of product/segment P&Ls as appropriate;
  • Providing insight as to business performance and competitiveness versus competition.

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Lead development of business knowledge, partnering and finance capabilities of the team;
  • Attract and retain finance talent and ensure a robust succession plan is in place;
  • Engage, inspire, motivate, lead and coach a team of diverse, aspiring and energetic professionals;
  • Fully leverage the matrix, set stretching goals and optimize the pace of delivery.

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

  • Implement and validation of non-financial metrics used in external reporting;
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business.

Qualifications:
The individual would be expected to have a varied finance career to date across multiple finance disciplines i.e. Financial Accounting & Control; Business Information & Analysis; Financial & Regulatory Reporting; Capital Management & Taxation; legal entity CFO; Accounting Policy; Change Management; and ideally exposure to living and working overseas given the global nature of the role.

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Engineering;
  • FCA / FCMA / CFA / MBA or other relevant qualifications would be preferred;
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in corporate financial planning or business finance;
  • Minimum 6 years of experiences in a financial institution.
