As an Area Manager - Otithi is looking for someone who will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of key administrative and logistical components of the project. Their primary purpose is to oversee day-to-day operations, including guide management, training, tour scheduling, and the timely arrangement of necessities, to deliver an exceptional customer experience, monitor feedback, develop SOP, manage partners’ payments, and monitor external partners’ operations that is associated with Otithi.

Area Manager, Research & Field Operations (Project Staff)

Job Description:

  • Manage key administrative and logistical components of the project, including overseeing day-to-day operations, tour scheduling, and timely arranging necessities to deliver the best customer experience.
  • Maintain close relationships with internal and external partners, local vendors, and suppliers, to ensure timely activation whenever needed & manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including accommodation, travel, and service partners.
  • Oversee reservation calendar updates and ensure smooth booking operations for Otithi customers & Coordinate partner payments, documentation, and service-level agreements.
  • Monitor customer feedback from booking to post-tour to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop mitigation strategies to eliminate inefficiencies and provide feedback on upgrades or resources required.
  • Develop and enforce a standard operating procedure (SOP) for a sustainable tourism business in Bangladesh that can be replicated under any governance.
  • Manage the project's budget through monitoring and effective bookkeeping, as well as developing timely financial reports.
  • Manage any cancellations or changes to any clients' arrangements, and support the marketing team when needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tourism industry regulations and best practices to ensure every operation complies with legal requirements and industry standards & Souvenir arrangement and management.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from a reputed university.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of operational processes and logistics management.
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Problem-solving and Stakeholder management skills
  • Contract negotiation and management.
  • Techniques for handling customer feedback, complaints, and cancellations.
