Position |

Extension Officer, Microfinance (Project Staff)
Job Description:
-
Plan, coordinate, and implement all sorts of project activities to ensure pilot and scale-up of all agricultural insurance (crop, Livestock and Fisheries).

Conduct the focus group discussion (FGD) with farmers and collect information and data related to major crops, Livestock and fisheries, and considering weather & yield risks during the product design.

Conduct awareness campaigns among farmers for the promotion of crop, livestock and fisheries insurance, provide educational training to farmers and other beneficiaries.

Conduct training sessions for capacity development of branch staff (MF Operations & F&A) on agriculture insurance (Crop, livestock and fisheries) operations.

Manage and distribute agriculture insurance products, handle farmer enrollment, coordinate premiums collections and claim settlement process with the support of branch staff efficiently.

Monitor day-to-day operations of the project and its planned activities; gather feedback related to the products from the farmers and other implementing partners to help refine the agriculture insurance products.

Work with the respective branch staff closely and build relationships with farmers & farmer’s groups.

Provide hands-on technical support to farmers during field visit or as per farmers’ request.

Work & liaison with local government, agricultural extension service providers (DAE), DLS and DoF and other stakeholders at field level.

Build strong relationships with relevant private sector and other like-minded projects for enrolling farmers in Agricultural insurance products.

Coordinate with other programs (BRAC Seed, IDP & CCP, BRAC AI) team members in the field.

Prepare progress reports, and collect Finance & Accounts reports and other documents at regular basis.

Support field coordinator in planning, designing, reviewing project activities and providing input for the further improvement of the project.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
-
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Requirements |
|
Educational Requirements: Diploma in Agriculture / Livestock / Fisheries in any recognized institution.
Experience Requirement: Minimum 2-3 years of working experience will be preferable concentrating on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries projects.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Community management and Risk assessment skills
- Excellent communication and analytical ability
- Basic computer operation and MS Office related knowledge
