Purpose:

The Manager-Donor Relations is responsible for maintaining effective communication with UN and bilateral donors, ensuring timely responses to donor requirements, identifying funding opportunities, and supporting the proposal development team in creating high-quality, compliant fundraising proposals. The role also involves facilitating cross-departmental coordination and supporting senior leadership in addressing challenges and establishing strong communication channels with key donors.

Manager- Donor Relations, Programme Development and Donor Reporting (PDDR), Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme

Job Description:

  • Exploring opportunities for new donors and partners, in particular focusing on the empowerment of women, Livelihood Development, Health and Nutrition, Education, Shelter, WASH etc. to maximize the impact of humanitarian response programme by BRAC’s Humanitarian and Crisis Management Programme (HCMP).
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with donors and partners at a Cox’s Bazar level, including by representing BRAC HCMP at relevant meetings.
  • Support the Head of the Department to identify challengers, establish clear and proactive communication channels with the UN donors like UNHCR, UNICEF, and other bilateral agencies like GAC, DFAT etc.
  • Identify potential funding opportunities and ensure timely response to donor requirements
  • Support programme communications by identifying and leveraging opportunities to enhance visibility and effectively communicate programme achievements to donors and stakeholders.
  • Work on standalone projects and initiatives, contributing to the development and execution of special projects as required to advance donor relations and programme goals.
  • Ensure compliance with BRAC policies and procedures, providing guidance and support to maintain alignment with internal regulations and donor requirements across all communications and donor interactions.
  • Work with PDDR, Partnership Management and Project Control, Finance & Accounts, Sector Leads, Programme Managers for value addition in proposal development and donor reporting.
  • Act as the focal point for donor communication and donor relations, collecting and sharing programme/grant-related data.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:  

Bachelor in Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, International Relations, Sociology or any other relevant subject from any reputed university/ institute.

Experience Requirement:

Minimum three (03) years of experience in donor management, fundraising or business development skills. Working experience with UN agencies or international bilateral or multilateral donors is highly desirable.

Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of current national and global trends in humanitarian fields, particularly regarding the protracted Rohingya crisis and host community challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic and funding priorities of major institutional donors in Bangladesh.
  • Expertise in project design and budget formulation guidelines/requirements of key institutional donors.
  • Proficiency in project design tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with the CXB ISCG structure and operations.
  • Solid understanding of Humanitarian Rights and Programming, and the Humanitarian-Development Nexus (HDN).

Skills:

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence skills.
  • Strong expertise in developing technical and financial proposals, and concept notes.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • Proficiency in documentation, facilitation, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Competency in strategic thinking, decision making, and problem-solving.
  • Experience in MEAL processes, analysis, and reporting, including the creation of infographics.
