Purpose: To provide financial inclusion services on fisheries project through WE CAN (Women Empowerment by Contributing in Aquaculture and Nutrition) and upskill fish farmers by providing specialized support which will eventually contribute on portfolio growth of branch level, Dabi-Microfinance Programme.

  Position  

Extension Officer; Microfinance Programme (Project Staff)

Job Description:

  • Find branch wise fish farmers, bridge existing resources to build more potential consumer base.
  • Awareness generation among fish farmers about BRAC Microfinance.
  • Enroll farmers in BRAC Microfinance database through proper channel
  • Drive specialized financial inclusion services for enrolled farmers
  • Visit and train enrolled farmers through updated methods of fish farming.
  • Assist farmers in procuring better quality feed, hatchery and inputs (lime, fertilizer, medicine etc).
  • Conducting meetings with farmers to identify their problems and solve them.
  • Maintain liaison with Government representatives and Fisheries Offices.
  • Update and maintain report, files and registers.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements: Diploma in Fisheries or any others relevant subject from any recognised university/ institution.

Experience Requirement: Minimum 2 years’ experience will be preferable concentrating on fisheries project.
