Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Gender Mainstreaming, will be the focal person for all project activities on Gender Mainstreaming for the DFAT-funded project of Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP). This position will ensure that gender considerations are integrated into all policy making, Programme development, and service delivery aspects through different initiatives and interventions. He/she will promote gender equality and facilitate gender-related activities under the supervision of the Programme Head.

Position: Manager, Gender Mainstreaming (Contractual); Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme
Job Description:
Strategic planning and policy development:
- Analyze programme specific scope, priorities, risk and opportunities as required for implementation into the programmatic areas of the project.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive gender mainstreaming strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Design and Develop gender equality tools, frameworks, checklists and indicators to strengthen support in the project.
- Provide strategic direction to senior leadership on gender equality initiatives and ensure their integration into overall Programme planning.
- Ensure policies and procedures are gender-sensitive and inclusive, addressing the needs of all genders.
- Collaborate with Programme managers to ensure gender considerations are integrated into Programme design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Capacity Building and Programme Integration:
- Identify training and capacity-building needs related to gender mainstreaming for staff at all levels.
- Develop and deliver training Programmes to enhance staff awareness and understanding of gender-related issues. As well guide gender-sensitive indicators and data collection methods.
Networking, Advocacy, and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international bodies, to advocate for gender mainstreaming and share best practices.
- Represent the organization at ISCG, sectoral meetings, workshops, and events focused on gender equality.
Gender Analysis and Research:
- Conduct gender analysis to identify disparities and gaps within the organization's operations and Programmes.
- Stay informed about the ISCG decisions, Sectoral Changes, latest research, trends, and developments in gender mainstreaming.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop mechanisms to track and measure progress in achieving gender equality goals.
- Regularly review and analyze data to assess the impact of gender mainstreaming efforts and recommend adjustments as needed.
Resource Mobilization, Reporting, and Communication:
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on gender mainstreaming initiatives and progress to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with fundraising and grant management teams to secure resources for gender equality Programmes and initiatives.
- Support the development of grant proposals and funding applications related to gender mainstreaming.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify innovative approaches and best practices for gender mainstreaming and incorporate them into organizational strategies.
- Continuously assess and improve the organisation's gender mainstreaming efforts based on feedback and lessons learned.
Safeguarding
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Requirements |
|
Educational Requirements: Bachelor/ Masters in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, Development Studies, or any other relevant subject or any other relevant field.
Experience Requirement: Minimum 8 years of experience in Programmeme development and coordination in NGO/INGO.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Have knowledge of development theories practiced by NGOs and other development agencies and familiarity with the ongoing Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing gender mainstreaming strategies and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of gender equality issues, human rights, and social justice.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinking and the ability to apply gender analysis to various contexts.
- Knowledge of relevant international conventions, frameworks, and guidelines on gender equality.
- Experience in managing teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge and skills in participatory Programme designing, process monitoring, planning, monitoring and evaluation, and result-based LFA development.
- Must be familiar with various bilateral and multilateral UN donors regarding their thematic priorities, proposal, budget format, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with sectors, Government Officials, and stakeholders in a sensitive environment.
- Excellent time management, analytical ability, multitasking, and report-writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a complex and challenging environment; must be culturally sensitive.
- Ability to operate in a complex organization across functions and work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills in English
- Have computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
