Purpose:
This position will lead the implementation and coordination of the specifically assigned project. This position will be responsible and contribute in project planning, project implementation, progress follow up, monitoring of activities, tracking financial management, staff capacity development, administration, coordination, networking and advocacy, Knowledge management and reporting, donor liaison, safety and safeguarding including others necessary management issues as needed.

Job Description:

Strategic Planning and Overall Management:

  • Lead roll out of all strategic programming initiatives; ensure project implementation in line with the activity plan and time frame of project proposals and any applicable national and sectoral guidelines.
  • Ensure technical support by coordinating with the WASH and Food Security Sector.
  • Ensure efficient and proper management of resources including financial, human and project assets.
  • Supportive supervision of the quality construction of all infrastructures, ensuring maintenance and sustainability.
  • Ensure integration of beneficiary participation and accountability.
  • Assess project activities and recommend actions to be taken.
  • Closely work with the sector leads, technical managers and project managers-budget and finance of WASH and Food Security sector to make all the corrections and modification of the projects whenever required.

Oversee Project Progress and Monitoring of Sectoral Activities:

  • Ensure that regular monitoring and evaluation assessments are conducted as planned with reports being made.
  • Manage and oversee recruitment, day-to-day management, development and training, appraisals, etc.
  • Ensure gender equality and social inclusion across the project.
  • Track the project progress in line with the activities and take measures to implement in time.
  • Hold monthly team meetings with the teams, review objectives, inform them of issues relevant to their work and provide feedback and ensure they receive coaching and training.
  • Analyze of financial reports and analysis regarding the budget to internal control and compliance in regular basis.
  • Ensure effective contribution in budget management and tracking monitoring burn rates and identifying areas of potential underspent or overspend and communicating to management on timely manner with recommendations on repurposing savings.

Stakeholders’ Coordination, Networking and Advocacy:

  • Ensure sufficient coordination and sector representation at the various camp level mechanisms as well as good working relationships with CiCs and other stake holders
  • Attend different meetings with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain liaison with ISCG, RRRC, CiC, donors, local govt. sector and other strategic partners to extend services with ensuring quality.
  • Ensure participation in sector meeting as when necessary and also attended policy meeting and workshop on humanitarian issues

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements: Master’s or four years bachelor in any discipline from any recognised university with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations.

Experience Requirement: Minimum 7 years of professional experience in a similar position and role in the field.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of WASH, FSL and GESI sectors in emergency
  • Demonstrated understanding of community-based approaches
  • Previous experience to manage USAID funded project
  • Knowledge of SPHERE standards, Humanitarian principles and Humanitarian core standard
  • Knowledge of updated technologies for increasing work productivity and process optimization
  • Excellent skills in report writing and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent skills in team building, problem solving and decision making
  • Familiar with MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
