Purpose: This position will be responsible for project planning and ensure quality implementation through the coordination of team members. He will implement the project in line with donor compliance and will be the focal person for donor communication.

Project Manager (Contractual), Disaster Risk Reduction; Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme

Job Description:

  • Oversee the project planning and ensure quality implementation in line with donor compliance through the help of the team member.
  • Support in Community risk assessment and Disaster Management plan development.
  • Support in community resilience development with community based early warning system and anticipatory action training module development and training facilitation.
  • Maintain good relationship with the local DMC members, ISCG working groups and the Local DMCs.
  • Support to technical teams on identification of hazard-based disaster risk mitigation measures (example: cyclone risks, landslide risks, flood risks, environmental risks, earthquake risks etc.) including process documentation.
  • Update activity wise financial status on regular basis for expenditure rate calculation and to ensure effective and efficient utilization of funds.
  • Ensure proper and quality documentation of sectorial achievements, lessons learnt and important events.
  • Support in preparation and update of contingency plan (cyclone), including necessary
  • Contribute in the development and implementation of DRM & Resilience strategies align to HCMP strategy;
  • Support to prepare of project proposal and budget in collaboration with PDDR and Grants team.
  • Have the overall reporting responsibility toward the donor. As such the project manager will inform and coordinate with project staff to ensure that written reporting on work and overall project progress is provided as per discussion and need.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:  Master’s in Disaster Management/ Development Studies/ any other relevant subject from any reputed university with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations

Experience Requirement: Minimum 4 years of experience in Programme Development/ DRR/ Project Management or any other relevant field in development sector of NGO/ INGO.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Facilitating group meetings, managing timelines, oral and written fluency in both Bangla and English, handling critical issues with relevant stakeholders
  • Strong understanding on Budgeting, communication, researching, writing, monitoring and evaluating, auditing, project management, project implementation
  • BRAC’s values and mission, Humanitarian Principles, Disaster Management, SDG, global development scenario to identify funding trends, financial and grants management, donor agencies
  • Excellent skills in project management, financial management and report writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills in English
  • Have computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
