  Position  

Senior Manager, Grants; Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP), Contractual

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and draft joint requirement planning, grants operation planning, drafting and finalising grants guidelines, budget proposal, donor reporting etc. in coordination with the supervision and guidance from Finance & Grants Controller
  • Provide supports to Finance and Grants Controller /Senior Management /HCMP Grants Team in day-to-day operations and deliver technical knowledge and make important financial decision by providing periodical budget progress reports /data with necessary analysis
  • Design and develop unit Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and work plan to accomplish the objectives of HCMP Grants as well as design strategies to optimize the grants management process of HCMP
  • Establish budget monitoring system to support all budget holders to ensure proper burn rate and rational cost charging
  • Take rigorous monitoring to ensure overall grants efforts are effectively implemented as well as guide and supervise grants team to accomplish the objectives of grants effectively and efficiently
  • Present periodical budget progress to Finance and Grants Controller of HCMP
  • Solve budget related problems to ensure smooth implementation of commitments made to donor
  • Ensure efficient planning, preparation and monitoring of grants proposals for HCMP
  • Ensure dissemination of approved budget copies to the relevant sectors and to support units for example HR, Finance and Accounts, Procurement etc. as applicable
  • Ensure effective capacity building of grants team, monitor performance of the supervisees and take controlling actions as applicable
  • Coordinate and engage with sector to identify funding needs.
  • Coordinate with HCMP, Finance and Accounts, HCMP PDDR, and PRL on donor reporting issues
  • Attend donor meetings and maintain liaison with Donor agencies to ensure consistent flow of funds in consultation with Finance and Grants Controller
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters or MBA major in Accounting/ Finance with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience is required in leading financial /grants management/ donor funded programme

Additional Requirements:

  • Have knowledge on BRAC’s values and mission, development sector, global development scenario to identify funding trends, financial and grants management, donor agencies
  • Have skills on budgeting and accounting, accounting software skills, communication, research, monitoring and evaluation
  • Have competencies on facilitating group meetings, leading teams, managing timelines, oral and written fluency in both Bangla and English
