  Position  

Head, PMU, Technology Division

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • To manage all kind of communication with the BRAC programme directors, identify their business needs and come along with a solution which is cost effective and ensure return on investments (ROI).
  • Able to review the programme existing MIS’s and suggest improvisations of the process
  • Provide major guidance to internal PMU team and relevant tech team to prepare rollout of tech pilot and large scale special projects
  • Overseeing the portfolio of organisational projects, providing expert judgment, knowledge, support and monitoring progress and report to head of programme of overall portfolio status of projects
  • Manage projects / programme with direct supervision in collaboration with programme head
  • Design, develop and implement the project management best practices
  • Define the role of PMU as Supportive, Controlling or Monitoring based on Projects and its nature
  • To provide strong leadership in a complex and matrix projectile environment to promote project management best practices in order to ensure successful project delivery
  • To ensure the project resources have the relevant skills, knowledge and tools and they are practicing the guidelines provided by PMU and ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation
  • To mentor and coach the PMO and business project teams to effectively implement the Project Delivery Approach
  • Work closely with Business Services teams (as well as internal and external project partners where appropriate) to devise, develop and deliver appropriate and proportionate systems to evaluate key activities at a project level
  • Ensure that information recorded in both electronic and hard copy meets with internal and external audit standards
  • Ability to monitor and report on project budgets across the portfolio at stakeholder and sponsor levels
  • Encourage knowledge transfer and lessons learnt activities within the PMO and business project teams to drive best practice
  • Focused on Technology Division AOP objectives, activates and deliverables
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:

  • B.Sc / M.Sc / MBA preferably in Computer Science/ Information Technology from any recognised educational institute with minimum second class/ division or equivalent GPA / CGPA in all academic examinations. PMP / Prince2 certification is preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in relevant field

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge on project management methodologies and framework
  • Advance knowledge on the skills, tools and techniques of project management framework (PMI or Prince2)
  • Breadth (not depth) in specific application/ industry knowledge
  • Ability to provide direction
  • Ability to monitor, control and manage troubled teams/ projects and bring them to success
  • Proven experience with projects of similar size and scope
  • Skills on coach/ mentor team members, issue and conflict resolution
  • Must have skills on effective decision making, negotiation, communication, leadership and team building
