Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS)

Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) is an activist women organization, working since 1986 to establish a society free from all sorts of discrimination, where nobody is left behind. BNPS has been working at the national level for policy and legal reform and at the community level for organizing and mobilizing grassroots people through a variety of programs.

The organization is seeking application from interested candidates for the following position for its Project Office, Ukhiya-Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. To be gender sensitive and respectful to the principles of non-discrimination, diversity and secularism are the prerequisite for the application.

Name of the position: Training Officer

Salary: 38,000 per month (consolidated including festival bonus); Job place: Cox’s Bazar (Ukhiya & Teknaf); Start Date: September 2023 and continued up to February 2025.

Required skills and competencies:

• A master’s degree holder from any reputed university.
• Five years of professional experience in any development organization in the field of gender equality. 
• Skills in conducting training session, providing training and capacity building support preferably in women empowerment and leadership development for project and partners’ staff, community leaders, women group leaders.
• Skills in preparation of training concept note, schedule, handout, training reports, different kind of reports for donor, survey reports, case study writing guideline for staff, volunteers and partners’, baseline and endline data collection and compare data for monitoring and evaluation purpose.
• Skills in training need assessment, content development, and capacity building of staff and volunteers on facilitation of community outreach program and survey.
• Skills in computer operation in word processing, excel data analysis, PP presentation preparation, web browsing and resource gathering and email communication.
• Strong understanding on gender issues and experience in integrating it into the programme practice.
• Clear understanding on power dynamics of social, economic and gender context from community to national level, Rohigya influx, displaced host community in Cox’s Bazar and FDMN in camps.
• Willing to frequent travel to the field areas and work in team & partnership context.

Major areas of responsibility:

• Coordinating and overseeing the overall field operation for community-based training and report to the project coordinator.
• Mobilizing data for preparation of required reports and ensuring to submit those in timely manner. 
• Working closely with partners and field offices and have frequent visit to the implementation areas. 
• Providing accompaniment support to the project team & partners’ team to strengthen monitoring mechanism for driving to achieve the quality outcome. 
• Taking appropriate strategies to strengthen different stakeholders’ group (primary women groups, adolescent groups, youths, volunteers and community social leaders).
• Maintaining good communication practices with the project team, partners’ team, core program team at central office, Dhaka and side by side donor focal point at Cox’s Bazar.
