Overview:
The B-JET program, short for Bangladesh-Japan ICT Engineers' Training Program, is an initiative implemented within the JICA technical cooperation project by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC). It has successfully run for eight batches from 2017 to 2020, and in March 2021, it was handed over to the North South University (NSU), the University of Miyazaki, and cooperating companies (BJIT Group, B&M, and KEIRINKAN). The current batch, commencing from June 2024 to September 2024, is considered the 14th batch.
The primary objective of the B-JET program is to support the development of Bangladeshi ICT engineers and aspiring ICT engineers who have the potential to create business networks between Japan and Bangladesh. The program aims to provide comprehensive training and opportunities for employment in Japanese companies.
Requirements:
- Internet connection with your own device (Laptop/Desktop PC, not mobile phone) for taking online training is mandatory.
- Participation in both face-to-face classes (at B-JET Center) and online classes is mandatory. Students are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses for the schooling week.
- Degree (Bachelor) in CSE, CS, or ICT-related subjects.
- ITEE Level 2 (FE) certified candidates can participate in the VIVA directly.
- Candidates with 1-2 years or more working experience in programming/software development/ AI/ Machine learning are preferable, fresher can also apply.
- Having considerable knowledge of modern programming languages, good problem-solving ability, and good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and design is preferable.
- Strong interest in learning the Japanese language. Also, self-learning mindset & good communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work in Japanese job market.
Class Contents:
- Nihongo Class: The Nihongo classes in B-JET are designed to teach trainees basic Japanese and help them effectively communicate and navigate life in Japan. Trainees can also receive guidance to attempt JLPT N5 and N4 level exams. The classes are conducted by experienced Japanese language instructors, under the guidance and supervision of Program-Specific Lecturer at the Center for International Relations, University of Miyazaki.
- Materials: Trainees in the Nihongo class utilize "Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan" (consisting of two parts: Starter and Elementary 1), "Smart Lecture Japanese" (e-learning materials), and original teaching materials prepared by the instructors. These materials will be provided on orientation day.
- ICT Class: The ICT class in B-JET provides trainees with an overview of the technology and software currently in demand in the Japanese software market. The class is conducted by our expert lecturer from BJIT Academy, BJIT Ltd. B-JET tailors the lectures for each batch after thorough research on the current market trends in Japan. To assess trainees' capabilities and enhance their job prospects, programming contests, and hackathons are also arranged.
- Professional Development Session: B-JET recognizes the importance of professional development for its trainees. The program offers sessions conducted by two dynamic career counselors from B&M Inc. and Globalgeeks Inc. (BJIT Group). These sessions aim to guide trainees in creating the perfect CV for the Japanese market, preparing for card exchange sessions, and equipping them with the necessary skills for interviews and company sessions that will be arranged by the counselors. They also guide trainees in following Japanese business manners and behavior.
- B-JET CAFE: As part of B-JET's immersive approach to language learning, trainees can participate in a special class known as B-JET CAFE. During these sessions, trainees can engage in conversation with Japanese locals to enhance their speaking and listening skills. Occasionally, we arrange sessions with lecturers from the University of Miyazaki, as well as students from different high schools and universities.
Responsibility:
- Regularly participate in training.
- Trainee must have the dedication and adaptive mindset to learn the Japanese language and corporate manner.
- Proactive attitude toward learning. (e.g., turn on the camera while taking the online class)
- Trainee will strictly maintain the below-mentioned training schedule.
Training Schedule:
Training duration: 13 weeks (65 days in total, including the compulsory and extracurricular courses)
Days: Monday to Friday of every week
Time: 8:30 a.m. To 4:00 p.m.
Orientation Program: 24th May 2024
Start: 3rd June 2024
End: 13th September 2024
