Requirements:
- Masters in Social Science
- Minimum 5 years related job experience for Advocacy & Networking in same functional area.
- Standard Computer literate with advanced skill of related software.
- Must have excellent command on English and Bangla and ability to prepare official correspondences independently.
Job Description / Responsibility:
- Identifying the areas of advocacy, and planning and designing the advocacy events for the identified areas.
- Carry-out the advocacy events i.e. workshop, seminar, submission of memorandum, lobby meeting etc.
- Design and publish advocacy and campaign materials ((Poster, Booklet, Brochures, Flyers, Leaflets and TVC etc.).
- Conduct regular lobby/advocacy and campaign with key stakeholders of the project
- Support BILS advocacy team to carry-out advocacy on domestic workers issues.
- Carry-out media advocacy and advocacy/campaign through social media.
- Facilitate ‘Domestic Workers Rights Protection Network-DWRN’ in its activities to protect the domestic workers and strengthen the network.
- Develop networking with the project stakeholders and maintain liaison with the stakeholders
- Assist Project Coordinator to prepare project report.
- Write periodic and final reports with on the advocacy area of the project,
- Articulation of grassroots realities from the workers’ rights perspectives, documentation of policy demands and undertake advocacy actions at national & local level.
- Assist Project Coordinator in building broad-based platform
- Documentation of evidences of workers’ rights violation and good practices, developing communication material and publications.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions and meetings representing project if assigned.
Competencies:
- Sound understanding on national and global context with theoretical understanding on social change process.
- Proven working experience on policy influence, reform or policy formulation works with government/non-government/private sectors.
- Excellent information gathering, presentation, reporting and public speaking skills in Bengali and English.
- Efficient time management skill, willingness to work within tight deadline and ability to work in complex and diverse working environment.
- An understanding of gender and diversity and the ability to apply this within policy and advocacy work.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skill, problem solving skills, strong value based commitment to right based approach.
