VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Red Cross-Red Crescent Movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red   Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the Movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in the country. As an auxiliary to the government in terms of providing the humanitarian assistance, BDRCS has been working to prevent and alleviate human suffering through rendering humanitarian services in partnership with local authorities and communities across all the districts of Bangladesh through its 68 branches and dedicated network of volunteers, in line with the international humanitarian standards and adhering to the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.   BDRCS activities include humanitarian response, Climate Change Adaptation, disaster management, health and wellbeing, capacity building and promoting Red Cross/Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently, under the “Pathways to Healing: A survivor Centered Approach to Address Violence and Human Rights Violations in Bangladesh”, BDRCS is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi candidate for the following position:

BDT- 75,000.00 (Consolidated per month).

45 years maximum (Age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidates).

NHQ , BDRCS, Dhaka.
Job Purpose
Project Manager will be responsible for total implementation of the program in coordination with the Director Health. The incumbent will provide overall project and financial management in the line with agreed POA and budget ensure timely recruitment, execution of the activities and timely and quality reporting. In addition, he/she will ensure coordination among all partners and supervise staff in the units and others under the program.


Job Description/ Responsibilities-

Project Implementation and Progress Monitoring:

  • Manage the EU-Funded P2H project under the supervision of the Director Health and in coordination with partners.
  • Performs health and livelihood needs assessments and mapping for the project guided by the outcomes and activities.
  • Provide necessary technical assistance for delivering awareness and advocacy under the project.
  • Ensure that project implementation as per the work plan and log frame is efficient, effective and done according to approaches, and provide with suggestions about implementation within the targeted areas or beneficiaries.
  • Ensuring all interventions are implemented, monitored and reported correctly to BDRCS and IFRC.
  • Ensuring effective utilization of project budgets keeping the overall goal and objectives of the program.
  • Ensure timely submission of cash forecast and cash request and settlements to IFRC
  • Create a positive environment among the team members so that the multidimensional team can demonstrate their full potential.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate effectively with IFRC, PNS, DGHS, external stakeholders related to the project implementation.
  • Represent BDRCS as directed at internal and external meetings, technical and coordination meetings, ceremonies.

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation:

  • Organize regular monitoring visits with partners to check on the progress and status of the project activities and share the feedback/ make improvements as per need identified.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions, Unified plan, reporting, operational plan that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Ensure proper documentation, evidence, reporting of the project as per the timeframes.in the agreement.
  • Facilitate the donor visit as needed.

Teamwork:

  • Assist the team in ensuring and following the community engagement and accountability process and protection, gender and inclusion while implementing project activitie          

Leadership and Capacity Development:

  • Develop/ Provide regular technical support with guidelines and SOPs on project’s component.
  • Build capacity as per project need.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.

Education requirements:    

  • Candidates having a degree with MBBS.
  • MPH

Experience requirements:

At least 07 years working experience in the field of Health programmes. Knowledge on project planning & budgeting, supervision and management to include monitoring and evaluation. Experience on Project Proposal writing and managing EU funded projects. Working experience in the field of emergency response context is an advantage.

Skill requirements (in addition to the above-mentioned):

  • Knowledge on Disabilities and conflict situation is preferable.
  • Self-supporting in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, email and internet).
  • Skilled in training, mentoring and coaching individuals and groups, as appropriate.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter able to lead a process, engage others and create ownership.
  • Flexible and willing to deal with ambiguity, changes, and challenges.
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to travel and operate in a demanding working environment.
  • Applicants must be motivated self-starters and competent professionals.
