Red Cross-Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster relief, disaster management, responding to public health emergencies, capacity building of the vulnerable population and promoting Red Cross Red Crescent ideals and principles.
Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position:
Job title: Director.
Department: Human Resource (HR).
Duration of contract: 1 year (with possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance).
Salary: Negotiable.
Age limit: 45 to 55 years (flexible for extra-ordinary candidates).
Job nature: Contractual.
Reportable to: Secretary General.
Duty station: National Headquarters, Dhaka.
Purpose:
The Director of Human Resource will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of human resource management and development of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. This senior management position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills to ensure effective and efficient response to manage the human resource related issues across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Secretary General (SG) and Deputy Secretary General (DSG) in implementing BDRCS Strategic Plans.
- Direct, guide, coordinate and supervise all functions of the department as planned and targeted.
- Provide strategic and programmatic leadership in designing and achieving overall human resource related objectives of the Society.
- Provide guidance and coordination to all Departments for developing organization’s development plan and action plan as envisioned in the objectives.
- Extensive expertise on HR policy making, periodic revision of policies and effective implementations.
- Expertise on HR functions including HR Planning, Talent acquisition & Retaining, Employee relations, Learning and development.
- Deep understanding of strategic HR management, including workforce planning, performance management, and organizational development.
- Continues follow-up HR & Admin activities with all the Department and ensure in-time support, coordination, and communication with the employees.
- Maintain strong relationships and communicate with various government and non-government organizations on matters related to HR and administrative issues.
- Effective communication with the team, management, partners and other stakeholders.
- Strong leadership in driving digital transformation within HR functions and data-driven decision-making into HR operations.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategic HR initiatives and drive organizational transformation.
- Any other responsibilities given by the authority.
Required Education and Experiences:
- Master’s degree in public administration/ Relevant subjects / MBA in HRM.
- Post Graduate Diploma in HRM from BIM will be given preference.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Human Resource Management of which Minimum 5 years working experience in senior level (Director/ Deputy Director/ Manager/ Coordinator) positions.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with development/ humanitarian organizations will be given preference.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English and Bengali, both written and spoken.
