Red Cross - The Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society has provided humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people over the last 50 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building, and promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

The society is recognized as a leading humanitarian organization that in the recent past has established strong footprints in ensuring resilience of vulnerable communities. BDRCS is a member of the IFRC network and as such is supported by numerous international partner organizations in its numerous endeavors. In line with its recent strategic plan 2021 – 2025, BDRCS is committed to attaining financial sustainability and in this regard shall be venturing into innovative and evidence-based fundraising initiatives.

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a motivated and talented Communication expert and Market Analyst who will help us grow our Philanthropic Communication and Market analytics and expand our pool of corporate and Individual donors. Working closely with the Fundraising Director, the post-holder will help secure and sustain existing and future fundraising streams. The Officer, Communication and Market Analyst will be required to research and identify potential new corporate and Individual funding streams, Prepare Online and Offline Communication Materials, build Brand Awareness among Mass ordinances, and provide technical support during all Fundraising Campaign Execution. Officer, Communication, and Market Analyst will cover the whole spectrum of fundraising Communication and Analyze Donation funnels and customer intent while thinking strategically and working operationally. He needs to be confident in representing Society externally and coordinate relationships as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

  • Analyze Donation funnels and customer intent.
  • Measure the ROI (Return on Investment) of online and offline advertising campaigns.
  • Report on marketing KPIs like leads, conversion rates, website traffic, and social media engagement.
  • Track email campaign metrics (delivery, open, click-through rates).
  • Monitor budget distribution and performance of paid ad campaigns.
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data.
  • Recommend website and campaign optimizations.
  • Research and implement marketing tools to support our promotional projects (automation software, social media scheduling, etc).
  • Work closely with Fundraising teams to identify opportunities for new donor acquisition.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience both Individual and Corporate level.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities, and/or services.
  • Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the Fundraising Department.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists/media and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
  • Proficiency in design and publishing software.

Organizational responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective systems for tracking and planning Fundraising communications, ensuring these are consistent with RM’s operational requirements and policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of the organizational strategy.
  • Provide insights and required support to implement the Resource Mobilization Strategy for BDRCS

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor / Master’s in Mass Communication and Journalism, BBA / MBA in Marketing from a reputed University (IBA/ DU/ NSU/ BRAC will be given preference). Educational qualifications will be relaxed in the case of experienced candidates.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience (Mandator field) in Communication / Advertising / Brand Management in any reputed organization.
  • Working experience with INGO/ MNCs/ Advertising Agencies will be preferred.
  • Good command of English and Bengali language.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Sound knowledge of Digital Media / social media / ATL - BTL Communication / Fundraising Communication / Crowdfunding techniques and Fundraising instruments.
  • Excellent and proven computer skills – particularly Designing Software along with MS Office and Excel, Email correspondence, and network browsing.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, agency (work/printing, online campaigns, etc).
  • Knowledge and understanding of statutory, trust, and institutional fundraising, including research sources and funding criteria, good knowledge of the Bangladeshi Philanthropic fundraising landscape.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. including experience in communicating effectively across varied audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines, identify priority activities and assignments, and adjust priorities as required.
  • Excellent and proven computer skills – particularly Designing Software along with MS Office and Excel, Email correspondence, and network browsing.
  • Able to build strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to present and interpret complex information.
  • Story preparation, Visualization, and Publishing skills.

Personal qualities:

  • Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles and values of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
  • Act always by the Code of Conduct and strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Common understanding of Gender issues, CEA mechanism including other cross-cutting issues.
  • Experience of working with a humanitarian response organization will be an added advantage.
