Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 53 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position of its Bhasanchar Operation:

Job title : Accountability to Affected Population Assistant
Job Nature  : Contractual.
Position : 01 (One).
Duration of contract : Initially up to 31 December 2024 (with the possibility of extension).
Salary Range : Up to BDT. 35,000/- (Monthly Consolidated).
Reporting to : Program and Reporting Manager, Bhasan Char Operation.
Age limit : 35 years (age limit will be relaxed in case of the potential candidate).
Duty station : Bhasan Char, Hatiya Noakhali.

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Assist in managing and updating the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and Community Action for Inclusive Centralized Automated Information Processing Platform (CAIPP) tools.
  • Support data review and analysis to identify trends, concerns, and improvement opportunities, ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation using MS Office, with strong English language and reporting proficiency.
  • Help manage the referral process for complaints and feedback, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Assist in follow-up with sectors and stakeholders to resolve issues and provide feedback to the affected population.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure tickets are addressed promptly and escalate issues when necessary, including token management as well.
  • Contribute to generating regular reports on ticket status, resolution rates, and outstanding issues for senior management in relation to the various documentation in MS Office with required English language and reporting proficiency.
  • Facilitate coordination between the CFM team and sector focal points for seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Working closely with sectors with proper channels to ensure holistic and integrated responses to complaints and feedback.
  • Ensure accountability to affected populations during CFM desk interactions or service delivery.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of CFM interactions, ensuring community members feel heard and supported.
  • Collaborate with the Camp-in-Charge (CIC) office to ensure proper service delivery and effective communication.
  • Act as a liaison between the BDRCS team, other actor staff, and the CIC office to address community concerns promptly.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject.
  • At least 02 years of work experience in emergency setup or development/ NGO sector.
  • Professional technical experience matching the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities.
  • Relevant background and knowledge of the UN.
  • Experience in working in the Cox’s Bazar or Bhasan Char Operation will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the complexity related to refugee and IDP situations.
  • Proficiency in English, particularly in writing and speaking, is essential.
  • Skilled in Computer literacy- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.

  • Able to work in a team and respect the opinions of others.
  • Honest and high level of integrity.
  • Assist the organization on occasion, in times of national, international, and local emergencies or major disasters.
