        Job  Summary 
        
          
            With support from its partners, BDRCS is increasing its    strategic and operational footprint in working with climate change and its    impacts to the targeted communities. This is in line with its strategic plan    2021-2025, operational frameworks, its multi-year country support plan as    well as its auxiliary mandate with the government of Bangladesh. This job    aims to contribute to the BDRCS’ strategic goals aimed at undertaking    coordinated and inclusive actions to reduce and adapt to the rising and    evolving climate risks and environmental crises. The candidate has the overall responsibility of initiating,    planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on initiatives    and activities related to the overall climate change adaptation and community    resilience programming in BDRCS at HQ and targeted districts.   | 
           
         
        Job  duties and responsibilities 
        
          
            
              - Plan and manage needs and capacity assessments, context and    stakeholder analyses and mapping, for better design and implementation of    climate smart projects and activities.
 
              - Prepare relevant project proposals, work-plans and budgets related to    climate resilience programmes and projects.
 
              - Coordinate the overall planning and implementation of projects in accordance with agreed    project log-frames, implementation plans and budgets. 
 
              - Provide    operational and technical support to BDRCS staff and volunteers in the    planning and developing of context relevant community driven and sustainable    integrated interventions on climate change adaptation and resilient    livelihoods, Anticipatory    Actions, DRR, small-scale mitigations and Green Response. 
 
              - Provide technical support to BDRCS staff and volunteers in    assessments, planning and conducting trainings and orientation on relevant    technical components of the projects.
 
              - Plan and organize specific capacity building    activities and and trainings on Anticipatory Action, climate change and    livelihood Green Response related topics for BDRCS staff and volunteers at    National and Unit level 
 
              - Support BDRCS staff and volunteers to plan and conduct regular monitoring and support    supervision visits for project activities to document best practices and    lessons learnt.
 
              - Support the    preparation and submission of regular, timely and accurate narrative and    financial reports, as per agreed schedule.
 
              - Support    BDRCS in strengthening coordination and partnerships at national and field    level in the areas of climate change and livelihood development in target    communities.
 
              - Together with BDRCS counter parts, participate in    regular technical and operational meetings at national and field level as may    be required. 
 
              - Support the mainstreaming of cross-cutting components of Community Engagement and    Accountability (CEA), Protection, Gender, and Inclusion (PGI), branch    development and youth engagement in the overall project design and implementation.
 
              - Ensure compliance with relevant    and applicable quality and accountability standards, both for BDRCS and DRC.
 
              - Any others task assign by    authority.

            | Minimum of    a master’s degree in development studies, Social Sciences, Geography and    Environment, Disaster Management, or environmental science from a recognised    education institution. |

            | Trainings    in the field of Climate Change Adaptation, livelihoods programming, Disaster    Risk Reduction, Forecast Based Action/ Anticipatory Actions, Cash and Voucher    Assistance ( CVA) |

            | Knowledge    and Skills and Experience  | 
            Required   | 
           
          
            | Minimum of 10 years’ experience as project manager/team leader    or sector focal for community resilience programming including climate change    adaptation, DRR and Anticipatory Actions in any national and international    organisation. |

            | Experience    and skills in field assessments, training, mentoring, and coaching of staff    and volunteers in a cross-cultural setting | 
              | 
           
          
            | Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills    with as strong capacity to build collegial relationships |

            | Well-developed skills in project proposal development,    reporting, writing and documentation.  |
