Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 48 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is seeking a highly motivated and skilled ICT Assistant to join our ICT section and support the organization's technology needs. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and resourceful individual with a passion for leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our humanitarian efforts. The IT Assistant will work closely with the ICT Manager to maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure, assist staff with technical issues, and contribute to the implementation of IT projects that align with our mission. is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position:

Job Title : ICT Assistant.
Number of vacancy : 1 (one).
Job nature : Contractual.
Duration of contract : Initially upto 31.12.2023.
Salary : Upto BDT. 30,000/= (monthly consolidated).
Duty station : Dhaka.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary ICT support under direct supervision of ICT Manager.
  • To provide PC Support (Desktop & Laptop), Printer Support and IT inventory.
  • To analyse systems and processes; maintain workstations and networks and maintain Web-based applications.
  • Knowledge of LAN, VPN and Internet connectivity products (Hub, Switch, Router, Firewall) and their installation, configuration and cabling.
  • To provide support, identify problems root causes and provide solutions accordingly.
  • To maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Technology.
  • Minimum 1 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience of over phone support and IT help desk.
  • Must have knowledge of Operating system installation / troubleshoot.
  • Must have experience with Antivirus management.
  • Must be very good in PC assemble and software management.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong organizational skills, methodological and logical approach to tasks and problem solving.
  • Good presentation, facilitation, and note-taking skills.
  • Ability to organize, analyse and synthesise large amounts of information.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, functions, data cleaning).
