Red Cross - Red Crescent Movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 51 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.
Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position for Population Movement Operation (PMO), Cox’s Bazar under Bangladesh Red Crescent Society:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deals with suppliers/ service providers as well as to monitor and assess the progress of logistics component of BDRCS programmes specially of PMO.
- Produce regular, timely and accurate stock, narrative and financial reports for the BDRCS and donors.
- Ensure that all activities within assigned role comply with BDRCS guidelines and policies (SPHERE, Code of Conduct, Principles and Rules for Disaster Relief, Fraud and Corruption Prevention and Control Policy etc.)
- Ensure the dissemination of BDRCS’s Fraud and Corruption Prevention and Control Policy to all supplier service providers who engage with the Country Office
- Ensure the most optimal and cost effective sourcing options are explored.
- Carry out procurement, ensuring compliance with the BDRCS procurement procedures for logistics requisitioning, tendering, comparative bid analysis and awarding of contract.
- Prepare and present procurement files to the sub Committee of Contracts for approval and keep records to full audit trail standard.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers and other relevant stakeholders regarding delivery of supplies or services. and keeping all parties informed of any changes in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update accurate supplier information for regularly purchased items.
- Keep track of local market conditions and establish/maintain good working relations with suppliers and inspection companies.
- Ensure that quality control/checks are conducted for all items, materials or tools procured and delivered by suppliers, that they all meet specifications stated in contracts, are fit for the intended purpose, and have appropriate inspection certificates, when required.
- Undertake any other task assigned by the Authority.
Position requirements:
| Education |
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management or equivalent).
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Degree on supply chain would be an advantage.

| Experience |
Minimum 5 year(s) of working experience in the relevant discipline. Preferably in Development sector/ NGO/ INGO/ Red Cross-Crescent Movement, or relevant organizations. |
| Language |
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and concise report writing skills.

| Knowledge and Skills |
- Knowledge on Tally Accounting Software is desirable.
- Knowledge of humanitarian affairs.
- Proven skills and capacity at team building and partnership management.
- Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local health representatives.
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, displaying patience, compassion, and diplomacy.
- Able to work in a multi-culture environment, able to take pressure, teamwork, self-motivated, organized, hardworking, and flexible regarding work hour and ability to live and work in challenging conditions.
- Strong professional and representational skills.
- Highly organized and innovative approach to work.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint is must.
- Computer competency in Bangla (Bijoy) will be an asset.
