Red Cross - Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the Movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government in the Disaster Management field, BDRCS provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 50 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Job Purpose:
The Assistant Finance and Admin Officer is expected to ensure financial reporting and monitoring of Bhasan Char Operation at Bhasan Char, Hatiya, Noakhali in a way to ensure that the project fulfills all the reporting and other mandatory requirements to donors and other stakeholders in due time. The Jn. F & AO is also expected to maintain a good working relationship with project team, BDRCS Bhasan Char Operation.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Support in all bank transactions and prepare monthly reconciliations for all accounts, get those approved as per BDRCS procedures and send to the concerned department reporting purpose.
- Report on daily cash balance.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register and stock registers of Project.
- Support in preserving all project related documents/ records/ data including hard and soft copy back-up.
- Assis the Finance and Admin Officer to preserve all project related documents/ records/ data including hard and soft copy back-up.
- Assist the Finance and Admin Officer to prepare annual budget, monthly and periodical financial statements, fund requisition and maintaining correspondence with the respective banks.
- Assist and cooperate Internal and External audit of the Project.
- Support to procurement activity of the operation as per the procurement policy of the society.
- Ensure good and expected quality and quantity of items from the supplier.
- Check and verify bills and voucher received from BCO project staff in line with agreed budget and support in ensuring submission of bills to BDRCS NHQ and UNHCR in time.
- Support in salary/ honorarium payment to the staff, volunteers and other personnel involve with the BCO program.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the line-manager.
Education and experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and minimum 02 year relevant experience.
- Previous experience with donor funded projects will be an asset.
- Person with additional experience on management of budgets; management of resources; monitoring; supervision and control; reporting; communication; networking; management of self; management of others will get priority.
Skills & abilities:
- Advanced skills in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word-processing and accounting packages) and familiar with internet browsing
- Ability to use manual accounting systems
- Ability to prepare budgets, cash flow statements & financial plans
- Analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
- Able to plan and work independently with minimum or no supervision.
- Able to influence, communicate, co-operate, and negotiate with a wide range of people and organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks.
- Proven professionalism and ability to work independently
- Fluent in English
