VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Red Cross-Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh This is a national society of the Red Cross- Red Crescent Movement which has constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position under Health department.

Job Title : Residential Medical Officer (RMO)
Number of vacancy :     01 (One)
Duration of contract : 6 month (with possibility of extension).
Salary Range : 40,000-45,000/-
Reporting to : Director, Health, BDRCS.
Age Limit : 35 years (age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidate).
Duty station :

Shaheed Maiz uddin Red Crescent Maternity Hospital, Banglabazar, Dhaka.

Main responsibilities:

  • To administer outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, BDRCS protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients` health conditions.
  • As Shaheed Maiz uddin Hospital performs C-section and has the provision of admission (Indoor) Services, A constant clinical supervision is must according to National Hospital Regulation.  
  • RMO Will ensure the proper care to admitted and post-operative patients. RMO will provide follow up consultation in absence of Consultants from HFRCS.  
  • During C-section, RMO will assist surgeons and eventually follow up the patients for next 48 hours.  
  • RMO will also carry out a parallel administrative and academic role at the Hospital.  
  • RMO will attend emergency cases if needed. Plan and Refer the cases accordingly.
  • To ensure the health facilities runs efficiently and makes the most of available resources.
  • To promote formal consultations and other engagement activities that will potentially have an impact on local health services as and when these arise.
  • To ensure the daily patients flow report in KOBO, DHIS-2 and EWARS reporting based Software.
  • Development and implementation of standards of practice.
  • Manage the team of Physicians and ensure that other clinical staff are complying with the organization policies when providing care.
  • Lead development of vision and goals and effectively communicate/engage practice staff.
  • Leads regular informational and participatory practice team meetings.

Education and experience:

  • MBBS from recognized Medical College with BMDC registration.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in clinical practice.
  • Post-graduation training in Obs & Gyane will get priority.
  • Female & local resident preferred.
  • Computer literacy and Experience in Similar position.

  • Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Able to work in a team and respects opinions of others.
