Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 49 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Need excellent ability to write professional report either in English or Bengali for Annual Report and documented lesson learn like as situation report, program progress monitoring report, monthly activity report, quarterly report, training report, day observance report, event/activity report, special report, case study, staff meeting/workshop minutes etc.
  • Maintain liaison with concern focal persons i.e. ICRC, BDRCS and IFRC reporting focal.
  • To conduct Unit visit to monitor and supervise the work related with the RFL activities of the BDRCS Units and guide them properly.
  • To facilitate training session to Branch/Unit RFL team members/volunteers on RFL activities.
  • Taking initiative for enhancing capacity of report writing of RFL staffs as well as RFL team members.
  • Assist for using and handling efficiently the basic tools of the RFL service as the Red Cross/Crescent Message, Tracing Request etc.
  • Assist to Director/In charge for conduct Training/Workshop/Orientations in relating to RFL services.
  • Assist to develop RFL Guideline and Poster, Leaflet & other promotional items.
  • Review and Revision to improve RFL Guideline and Volunteers Handbook.
  • Assist to prepare yearly Plan of Action and take initiative for its implementation in consultation with line Manager.
  •  Involve to FL Answer database.
  • Prepare questioners for RFL needs assessment and to take necessary steps to conduct accordingly.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager
  • To perform other duties as and when assigned by the BDRCS authority.

Education and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree from any reputed university but priority for Bachelor in English and any report writing diploma/course.
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in which 2 years with Restoring Family Links activities or similar role in any reputed organization.
  • Good command on English and Bengali language.

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and team work skills.
  • Excellent report writing skill.
  • Sound analytical and influencing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines, identify priority activities and assignments, adjust priorities as required.
  • Computer skills on MS word, Excel, Power point and internet operation.

Personal qualities:

  • Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles and values of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct and strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Common understanding on Gender issues, CEA mechanism including other cross-cutting issues.
  • Experience to work with a humanitarian response will be an added advantage.
