Job purpose:
We are looking for a talented and creative Junior Graphic Designer to produce visually appealing and engaging designs and content for digital platforms, especially social media. The designer will create still visuals - including hand-drawn, computer-generated images, and photos - that connect with our audiences and support our project goals. The role requires strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator, the ability to take initiative, think from the audience’s perspective, and deliver high-quality content within deadlines while following brand guidelines and BBC Media Action’s editorial standards.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Create engaging visual content including illustrations, posters, branding elements, infographics, and static visuals for digital platforms.
- Create effective communication materials i.e. research report, training module, PowerPoint presentation, brochure.
- Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity in line with brand guidelines.
- Work closely with the creative team to ensure visuals effectively support the content strategy and engage the target audience.
- Create a library of visual assets - to support the creative team and ensure easy access for future use.
- Manage the entire design process from concept through to final delivery.
- Ensure all outputs meet high aesthetic and technical standards, including editorial accuracy.
- Prioritise tasks effectively to deliver high-quality materials within tight deadlines.
- Stay updated with design trends and apply innovative techniques where appropriate.
- Provide creative input in brainstorming sessions and contribute to enhancing visual storytelling.
- Produce high quality visual content and motion graphics

The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Action’s safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct.
