Job title: Junior Digital Content Producer

Job purpose:

Reporting to the Creative Manager, the Junior Digital Content Producer will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategy, creating and scheduling posts, engaging with audiences, and using data analytics to optimize content performance and reach.

S/he will work closely with the Digital Content Producer and Creative Manager to develop diverse digital content across platforms, ensuring high-quality output. Additionally, S/he will produce allocated content for social media, aligning with BBC Media Action’s creative standards and editorial guidelines.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies, including content planning, scheduling, and audience engagement, to maximise reach, engagement and impact.
  • Produce, edit, and optimise digital content for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with BBC Media Action’s editorial standards and creative vision.
  • Monitor audience interactions, analyse engagement metrics, and use data-driven insights to refine content and improve performance.
  • Coordinate day-to-day social media operations, including managing content calendars, posting schedules, and platform updates.
  • Support the Digital Content Producer in developing a wide range of digital content, from pre-production to post-production.
  • Oversee logistical and administrative aspects of social media content production, including coordinating influencers, freelancers, suppliers, and contributors.
  • Ensure all necessary rights and permissions are acquired for digital content, maintaining thorough and accurate records.
  • Manage resources within budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for digital content production and social media management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships with partners, talent, and suppliers.
  • Proactively identify challenges and propose solutions, ensuring smooth content production and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and BBC Media Action’s ethical and editorial guidelines.

Skills, knowledge, and experience requirements

Criteria
Essential/Desirable
Proven experience in social media management, including content planning, scheduling, and audience engagement across platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

Experience creating engaging short form content (reels or shorts) for social media platforms.

Ability to analyse engagement metrics and use data-driven insights to optimise content performance and audience reach.

Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro) and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop).

Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing strategies, and paid social media campaigns.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage content calendars effectively.

Knowledge of established digital content production techniques.

Strong understanding of storytelling for digital audiences.

Experience working in the media, creative, or non-profit sector, particularly within digital content production or social media.

The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Action’s safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct.
