Job purpose
HR Assistant will be providing day-to-day HR related support to BBC Media Action – Bangladesh office where s/he will need to maintain strict confidentiality at job. The Human Resources Assistant will work as one of the team members of the operations team and will report to the HR Manager.
Main Duties & responsibilities
- Provide support for staff and freelance recruitment process including publishing job advert, collating applications, arranging interviews, conducting reference checks and supporting in the preparation of contracts.
- Maintain both paper and soft copies of staff files.
- Supporting to arrange staff mandatory training.
- Supporting finance team for payroll processing.
- Managing staff leave and attendance records.
- Arranging staff leaving process including support in preparation for final settlement.
- Other duties as required by the HR Manager and Country Director or his designee
Essential skills and experience
- Proven working experience in HR functions with donor funded projects, INGO or international organisations.
- Good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Strong communication and language skills in Bangla and English
Desirable skills and experiences
- Minimum graduate with HR related degree or diploma
- Experience of working with computer and data base.
The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Action’s safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct. A police background check may form part of the recruitment process. BBC Media Action operates a zero-tolerance policy concerning all forms of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people.
