Position Title: Lecturer (English)

1. BAIUST solicits applications for the post of Lecturer under the Dept. of English. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

a. Teach undergraduate courses that meet the curricular needs of the university with particular emphasis on fundamental education in all areas of English.
b. Ensure that teaching content is appropriately informed by current research.
c. Collaborate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the Department’s programs.
d. Work in accordance with university policies and procedures to undertake assessment of students’ work.
e. To contribute to research through high quality publications.
f.  Carry out specific departmental roles and functions as may reasonably be required.
g. Any other duties assigned by the university authority.

2. Academic Qualification, Experiences and other requirements. The candidate must have following:

a. Honors (4 years) and Masters in English from any reputed university.

b. Must have achieved at least 03 x First Class/Div/A Grade (Not below CGPA 3.50 at undergraduate and postgraduate level) in the entire educational qualification.

c. For candidates who have passed according to the grading system, the total GPA in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations must not be less than 8.00, with a minimum of 3.50 in both. In the relevant subject, for both the Honours and Master’s degrees (under both old and new grading systems), one must have a minimum CGPA/GPA of 3.50, while the other must have at least 3.25.                  

3. Salary and Other Benefits: As per the University’s Service Policy (Lecturer - Grade 9, Gross Salary: BDT 40,000/-).
