Project Context
Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) is one of the leading human rights
and legal aid organizations in Bangladesh. Since its inception ASK has been working for the
protection and promotion of human rights (HR) of vulnerable communities, gender and
social justice through community activism, social mobilization, capacity building, legal
services, advocacy and policy intervention. ASK takes a comprehensive and holistic
approach to the promotion and protection of human rights in particular of women, children
and other groups, through mediation, litigation, shelter and psycho-social counseling,
monitoring and investigating human rights violations, media campaigns and public interest
litigation for law and policy reform.
Objectives of the position
This position will be responsible for GBV component. She will be manage a GBV team, Volunteers. Ensure psychosocial support, shalishl mediation and legal support/ referral services, case management. This position has been designed to address the urgent need for protection including psychosocial support, referral services and skill development for host community and Rohingya women, men, and adolescent girls and boys.
Educational Requirements
Masters/Bachelor's degree in Law/Psychology Or on any relevant discipline from a public/private university.
Experience Requirements
At least 5 year(s) experience in working with Protection, GBV sector
Job Responsibilities
- Develop overall planning on project based protection, GBV and providing support to the affected communities, based on their need and project design.
- Develop SOP/Guidelines/ module/manual / ICE-BCC materials on protection, GBV.
- Coordinate with project based protection GBV, team lead to provide technical support to the Protection GBV Operations team to ensure a high standard of implementation of strategy and activities.
- Provide individual or group psychological support such as counselling and support to Host and Rohingya women and adolescent girls referred by the team in line with case plan objectives.
- She must provide group psychological case management, counselling, mediation, referral services, legal support for project participants.
- She have to provide basic level counselling to those that have lost family members and to those that are facing increased level of distress.
- Closely monitor and document the progress of mediation, Salish and cases referred.
- Refer cases and liaise with relevant sectorial focal in the assigned camp and host based project working areas.
- Develop technical reports on specific cases identified during the individual psychological support sessions.
- Assist to organize Protection GBV Team, legal aid team, Lead in proposal development for Protection.
- Ensure safeguarding SOP/Guidelines and QA guidelines are being followed in the field.
- Monitor quality of field performance on a regular basis and Coordinate feedback meetings with the team.
- Flag any potential issues in implementation identified by the team to the Protection GBV Team Lead
- She/he has to conduct awareness session for promotion of Social Cohesion, peach building, GBV Prevention to women group.
- Provides input developing content on GBV issue based training for host and camp based project participants.
- Respect confidentiality of information without sharing it with any other party, also ensure that information obtained during meetings is dealt with confidentially.
- Share weekly/bi-weekly update of support/ counselling/ mediation support provided to participants with project team.
- Coordination and communication with GBV sub-sector, related government department, UN agencies, like minded INGO's, NGOs.
- Participate GBV coordination meeting, workshop, training regularly.
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programmes goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
- Any other responsibilities given by supervisor, ASK senior Management
