About Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK):
Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) was established in 1986 as a national legal aid and human rights organization. Initially its work was limited to providing free legal services to the disempowered particularly women, working children and workers in Dhaka city. But over the last thirty-three years, ASK has evolved a more comprehensive approach to the promotion, protection and prevention in the area of legal and human rights. ASK’s strategies to promote human rights awareness and community activism; offer legal aid through mediation and litigation while survivors are given psycho-social counseling; investigations into human rights violations and their documentation are supplemented by research which together lead to media campaigns to defend human rights, and public interest litigation for law and policy reform. ASK has implemented different projects in Cox’s Bazar and is currently working for promoting women’s participation in peace building and social cohesion among Rohingya and host community.

Youth Rise Project Goal:
Communities affected by the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar district benefit from reduced conflict and violence (including GBV).

Youth Rise Project Objective:
Young people are more resilient to impacts of conflict, more frequently resolve local conflicts in peaceful and non-violent ways and are less likely to be involved in violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate the capacity need assessment and mapping process of local partner(s) communities, women’s groups and networks, identify the key areas of improvements and make recommendations for implementation of capacity building components;
  • With advice and guidance from experts at top management level/EC/ED deliver capacity building components of the project including, design and development of studies, modules, IEC materials and delivery of training in relation gender-based violence in conflict situation, peace building, social cohesion and anti-trafficking;
  • Develop modules for different capacity building activities;
  • Provide technical assistance and support to LP in all capacity building activities;
  • Conduct periodic performance monitoring including annual reassessments of LPs to ensure quality is maintained and milestones are met;
  • Develop ToRs for hiring consultants in line with ASK policies and manage the delivery of outputs in coordination with top management at ED and EC level and team members;
  • Arrange and coordinate all trainings with consultant and facilitators;
  • Provide customized mentoring follow ups at organizational and individual levels;
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of capacity building activities by consultants;
  • Assess the trainings; and participate in necessary collaborative efforts with other capacity building providers and national training networks;
  • Prepare the programme reports in assistance of PC;
  • Arrange different types of meetings and seminar with different stakeholders and development partner.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s in Development Studies, Women and Gender Studies or any other discipline of Social Science with good academic records.
  • At least 5 years experiences in the following area(s): Partnership management, Project operations and management, organizational development, working with youth leaders, networking, working on gender, SRHR and rights issues etc.
  • Proven Leadership skill and demonstrated collaboration & team building skills. Team leading abilities and facilitate and empowering self-directed autonomous team.

Salary: Consolidated monthly salary BDT 75,000/- . Festival allowance will be applicable as per policy.

Age Limit: Age at most 50 years

Additional Requirements:

  • The applicants should have experience in the area of NGO sectors.
  • Experience to work on youth organization and organizational development.
  • An understanding of partnership management.
  • Applicant should have good computer knowledge especially in Microsoft Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills and the capacity to produce quality reports independently.
  • Willingness to frequent travel across the project areas.
  • Working experience in the relevant field and geographic location.
