Manager /Senior Manager, Software QA (Lead)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the QA team in defining and implementing QA processes and procedures to support quarterly software releases.
  • Monitor and improve clear metrics set by tech leadership for performance of the SQA organization.
  • Work with different teams (Developer/Delivery Manager /application mgt) to collect necessary information to assure the QA coverage, and also provide feedback on quality issues.
  • Effective thought leadership with the ability to proactively influence others
  • Provide test solutions for Application Components and Application Functionality and Regression
  • Analyze changes that span application test team and functional processes to ensure all impacts have been identified for testing
  • Conduct test team meetings to ensure business and IT testing expectations are met, and test deliverables are traceable to business requirements
  • Support the effort of creation of Master Test Plan, Detailed Test Plan, Test Cases and other testing deliverables in accordance with SDLC guidelines via manual and automated toolsets
  • Lead the creation of Manual and Automated Test Scripts 
  • Contribute to the establishment and adherence to quality assurance guidelines and standards as defined by the project and/or organization requesting testing services
  • Enter and track all daily activities using status tracking tools as required
  • Prepare and Analyze test results to aid in problem solving and facilitate decision-making
  • Assess the status of the release, and help make sure that the release goes out on time with high
  • Quality level.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science (CS) from a reputed university.
  • 8 to 12 years solid experience in Quality Assurance.  Experience in Financial industry is preferable
  • Experience implementing QA processes and procedures
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test procedures
  • Experience testing Unix/Linux based applications
  • Experience using testing tools for UI and performance testing
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills
  • Experience implementing QA processes and procedures
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test procedures
  • Experience testing Unix/Linux based applications
  • Experience using testing tools for UI and performance testing
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience testing desktop, web based and middleware integrated applications
  • Skill-set for effective status reporting (including PowerPoint presentations as needed) and senior management communications
  • Core strengths must include excellent communication and coordination skills inclusive of team leadership, relationship management and mentoring •Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure, problem solving & team playing attitude.
