Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF) is a centre of excellence with a vision of Bangladesh free from acid violence, where burn victims, especially women and children, live with dignity.

It is an independent, non-government, non-profit organization, set up as a Trust and registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh. It is the only specialized NGO in Bangladesh working to prevent acid and burn violence; empower survivors, especially women and children; and campaign for prevention and elimination of this violence. ASF works with an integrated approach, using a holistic (bio-psycho-social) multi-disciplinary approach backed by research, experience and evidence.

Medical Officer

Job Context
Acid Survivors Foundation is going to implement “Prevention, Respond and Resilience building to address burn violence project “in Sirajgonj and Dinajpur District supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing linkage with holistic medical services for burn survivors;
  
• Organize meeting with burn professionals;
  
• Linkage and Follow up visit at different government medical college and Hospital at Dhaka and Sadar Hospitals (Sirajgonj and Dinajpur district);
  
• Linkage and Follow up visit at OCC, VSC and MSPVAW-program;
  
• Help in getting Medical Certificates to the patients (as and when required);
  
• Conduct orientation on identification of acid and other burns for the community based staffs;
  
• To support team different workshops, round table discussion, meetings etc;
  
• To support team members for different day observations;
  
• To Prepare database of medical linkage participants;
  
• To develop case story, lesson learned and challenges;
  
• Appear court witness frequently in two districts of Bangladesh;

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Language proficiency in English is essential.

Location: Based in Dhaka and more than 30% time will be required for field visit.

Educational Qualification:

• The candidate should have minimum M.B.B.S degree. Surgery and clinical management will be preferable. H/she should be registered to Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 3 (years) work experience in the field.

Age: Age should not exceed 35 years.

Job Nature: Full time Contractual

Project Duration: Three (3) years from 01 January-2019 to 31 December-2021.

Salary: Monthly salary BDT 35,000/-

Other benefits: Festival bonus, Insurance and others benefits as per Human Resource Policy Manual of the organization and project’s budget.
