ARK Foundation is a non-government organization dedicated to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Through evidence-based research, training and communications, it provides sustainable solutions for health, education and social development. Since its inception in 2013, ARK Foundation has been working closely with Government organizations, national and international NGOs, universities, and development partners to achieve its vision and mission. As a research NGO, we are working in the fields of health research, health system strengthening, urban health, mental health and tobacco control.

ARK Foundation is looking for a Research Associate who will support FCDO funded “Community Led Responsive and Effective Urban Health System (CHORUS)” project which is being implemented with the support of University of Leeds and University of York, UK. The project primarily aims to strengthen urban primary health care system in West Africa and South Asia.

Responsibilities of Research associate

• Conducting and contributing to various types of reviews; such as literature review, desk review, scoping review, systematic review, etc.
  
• Leading qualitative research activities including developing research tools; conducting FGDs, KIIs, IDIs, case studies and participatory research methods; and checking transcripts against recordings.
  
• Conducting qualitative analysis including developing coding framework.
  
• Supervising the research assistants and providing feedback to their work.
  
• Contributing to develop concept notes, policy briefs, research reports, academic articles and necessary relevant documents.
  
• Attending meetings and maintaining working relationship with development partners and stakeholders, and provide regular update on the project.
  
• Coordinating with the communications team to develop relevant materials.
  
• Assisting Research Fellows as part of team member.

Required Qualification and skills:

• Master’s Degree in Anthropology / Public Health / Health Economics / Development Studies or other Social Sciences
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant research
  
• Professional experience of working in qualitative research, especially conducting participatory research methods
  
• Should have experience of reviews, conducting qualitative data collection, coding using software and analysis independently
  
• Excellent English writing skills; especially for academic writing
  
• Must be proactive, able to work with minimal supervision and enthusiastic to perform field-based activities
  
• Must be a team player with excellent organizational skills
  
• Must have excellent communication (written and spoken) skills
  
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  
• Experience of working in urban health research is a plus

Salary and Other benefits:

• Gross Salary: 55000-70000 (based on the qualification and experience of the candidate)
  
• In-house lunch available, on payment
  
• Two days off per week.
