Position: Operations Manager/Coordinator

Context, Stakes, Direction mission


Apon strives for better health and wellbeing of low income workers through operating specialized discount shops which not only ensures access to quality and affordable health-nutrition products and services for workers and increases their real income but also minimizes workers health expenditure through cash less health insurance coverage.

Currently Apon is serving aprox. 40,000 workers through its 9 outlets.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities


Improve the active customers and avj sales: 

  • Responsible to achieve yearly target sales and avj customer’s avj sales per customer per month for each shop and for the company.
  • Manage operations team in head office and at outlets by strong day to day monitoring based on KPI, in-depth activity monitoring and performance measurement
  • Spend at least 30% time at field to solve problems & train and coach team members.
  • Manage all the B to C offers, promotions, discounts and pricing

Ensure target margin/revenue for the company:

  • Responsible to develop new business partners/clients  to grow product/service portfolio and sales income/revenue/margin
  • Responsible to achieve yearly targets for opening new outlets and adding new customers.
  • Manage/reorganize the supply chain options/process to keep the cost target with budget.
  • Ensure minimum stock for maxim sales-ensure related KPI’s achieved

No. of direct report: 12, Indirect: all shop staffs

Job Requirements/Job Specification (Managerial and Functional Competencies)


  • Education – Bachelor or Masters in Business, Business back ground preferable.
  • Know-how—Minimum 8-10 years’ experience & min. 5 years in leadership position in Sales/marketing/distribution/Business development/outsourced rural operation in agency.
  • Results oriented & target driven.
  • Good team mgt. skills and ability to build and deliver a motivated and performing team
  • Good project mgt. skills.
  • DOER/Hands on.
  • Good in follow up & monitoring, attentive to details
  • Good analytical ability, Good skills in MS Excel.
  • OPEN.
  • Believes in social mission/woman empowerment.

Travel requirements

Based in H/Q & 30% time on the field.
