B. ABOUT ANANDO
ANANDO is a national, non-government, non-profit, non-political and voluntary development organization that came into existence as “ANANDO” in 1996 and afterwards registered with the Directorate of Social Services and NGO Affairs Bureau in August 1997. The goal of ANANDO is the reduction of poverty by addressing sustainable livelihood development, women empowerment, climate change, water and sanitation, skill development, promotion of enterprise, and peacebuilding. The purpose of ANANDO is to serve the extremely vulnerable communities and people at risk by reducing their vulnerability and suffering and promoting their sustainable socioeconomic development.
ANANDO’s programs are being implemented in 8 districts (Tangail, Cox’s Bazer, Khagrachari, Gazipur, Jamalpur, Rangamati, Satkhira, and Chittagong) through 21 Projects/Branch Offices of which 16 offices are own establishment. Its current & previous development partners include USAID, Welthungerhilfe – BMZ, GFFO-Germany, Licht Brucke–Germany, European Union, GIZ, UNDP, WFP, UNHCR, Department of Women Affairs (GOB), Bureau of Non-Formal Education (GOB), PKSF etc.
Presently ANANDO is implementing 15 donor funded projects which annual budget around 30 core.

Job Statement of the position |

The Director - Program is a senior staff of ANANDO. S/he is a member of senior management team and therefore will contribute towards strategic development and decision making for ANANDO. The Director - Program is also responsible for ANANDO’s programs and its effective management including planning, supervision, monitoring, evaluation, strategic discussions and decision making. The key responsibilities are to
- Lead the development & Humanitarians program of ANANDO
- Project Concept Note, details project proposal and implementation strategies development.
- Fund raising and representing ANANDO’s program at various levels.
- Providing technical & management input for high quality and effective implementation of projects/programs.
- Periodical projects report for donor and management.

Educational Requirements |
: |
- Master’s Degree in any discipline. Preferable in Agriculture, Natural resource management, Development studies, English, Social Science.

Experience Requirements |
: |
- At least ten years of relevant working experience in a reputed national/ international organization among them at least 5 years in senior managerial position
- Experience in the sector of Agriculture, Livelihood, DRR and Climate change management and lively-hood

Job Requirements |

- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in English and Bengali
- Expertise on project concept development, project proposal development, report writing, evaluation and fund raising.
- Strong understanding of food and nutrition Security, Natural Resources Management, livelihood and humanitarian issues
- Skills and experience in micro and macro advocacy initiatives, networking skills and capacity building;
- Ability to think strategically and develop creative approaches and solutions to complex problems;
- Excellent computer skills in packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and power point.
- Ability to work independently and within a team;
- Highly motivated and willingness to travel across the country, participate in meetings even during weekends as and when necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Interested and willing to work in tide schedule

Job Description / Responsibility |

A. Program Design and Fund raising:
- Take lead role in planning and designing of programs in light of organizational strategic vision, donor requirements and need of target group.
- Design and develop concept note and project proposals, fund raising and its operational planning for effective implementation including its strategic guidelines.
- Identify needs and opportunities for potential programs, introduce innovative ideas where relevant.
- Plan & conduct project implementation strategic planning and project review workshop/ meeting and inform the implementation status to the higher management, donor and take corrective measures for further development with the understanding of Executive Director.
- Take lead for funding raising and identify appropriate needs, opportunities and related donors for funding. It is one of the major task.
B. Program Management & Coordination:
- Overall management of ANANDO’s project’s and programs and responsible for monitoring program progress towards timely & effective implementation for achieving results.
- In close collaboration with Executive Director & Regional Manager to ensure smooth & timely program implementation towards achieving project goal, objectives & results.
- Prepare annual program operation plan (POP) for ANANDO’s projects considering its budget and time frame.
- Provide adequate direction and support to ensure that program are managed according to ANANDO’s policies and standard.
- Ensuring that program activities are implemented according to established program principles, gender, and community participation.
- Ensure the compliance of program findings identified by different internal and external evaluator/monitor/ visitors.
- Initiate appropriate disciplinary measures to the concerned staff as and when required in consultation with Executive Director.
- Provide necessary technical support and guidance to the project program staff to ensure that program targets are met properly.
C. Technical Assistance to program needs, monitoring and capacity building of project/program staff:
- Provide technical leadership across programs to ensure program implementations are of highest standard.
- Identify opportunities to improve and expand the programs in identified strategic needs.
- Ensure appropriate training and capacity building activities for program staff members, to support high quality program implementation at field level.
- Ensure good practice by supporting the development of strong Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) mechanisms and identify gaps in the standards of delivery of program through monitoring process.
D. Reporting and Documentation:
- Timely preparations of program/projects report and documents ensuring donor & organizations requirement and submit to Executive Director.
- Ensure that annual work plan, annual report, and quarterly reports of the projects are produced and delivered on time.
- Regular field visit, prepare visit report and share with Executive Director and take appropriate masers.
- Ensure the timely and accurately preparation and submission of project’s progress to donors.
- Prepare feedback/comments on deferent program report of regions and send them to the region for updating and appropriate measures.
- Prepare highlight/brief monthly activities/program report addressing the planned activities.
E. General terms & condition:
- Work in close collaboration with projects/program team, Regional Manager and Executive Director to ensure integration and achieve project objectives.
- Ensure cost effective implementation.
- Ensure safety and security of project staff and organizational assets.
- Follow the policies, rules and regulations of ANANDO.
- Carry out any other assignments requested by Executive Director.
