Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 86,674 with other admissible benefits such as festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, medical benefit, group life insurance, mobile & internet allowance etc, as per HROD Policy.

Job Summary:

The Senior Officer - Communication and Knowledge Management will report to the Communication Manager. This role is vital in supporting ActionAid Bangladesh’s communication efforts by being one of the key team players for Dhaka-based communications events and activities. The incumbent will ensure effective coordination between the communications team and programme teams, projects, and functional units.
Key responsibilities include managing the ActionAid Bangladesh website, supporting visual communication, liaising with external creative agencies, managing social media, contributing to effective knowledge management efforts, and performing administrative tasks as required. The Senior Officer will play a crucial role in enhancing the organisation's communication efforts and ensuring seamless internal and external communication.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

Website Management:  

  • In collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) IT team, Social Media & Web Management Fellow, and external IT service providers this staff will ensure effective management of back-end activities of AAB website.
  • Regular upload/ update/ review content on website.
  • Submit quarterly website management report to line manager/CD/SLT whichever advised.

Visual Communication and Content Generation

  • Identify and source contents for social media and publications.
  • Produce digital static and video/motion content through graphic design, motion graphics, and video editing.
  • Supervise agencies/consultants in developing communications materials as textual, pictorial and audio-visual contents.
  • Develop ToR, guidelines and advertisements for hiring consultants and support the team in assessment of the consultants.
  • Assisting with basic photography and video shooting for internal and external meetings/ event coverage/ content generation/ in-house interviews.
  • Build and update inventory for print and visual products and manage the dissemination/distribution channel.
  • Regular archiving of the IEC/BCC, brand and communication materials.
  • Support to emergency focal person to prepare/collect/edit materials, i.e. photography, visual material, case study, report, article, etc. on the situation to share with IHART.
  • Attending field trips to different parts of the country for story collections, content creation, and emergency response.
  • Follow-up and coordinate with different SP’s, Projects and functional units regarding events, campaigns, activities and materials

Social Media Management

  • Work with the Deputy Manager - Communciations to ensure effective social media management through social media post drafting and updating content on different social media platforms.
  • Keep trace of the social media traffic, reach and engagement, and generating social media reports as required. Supporting in communication and social media campaign, activities, posting for Rohingya response and emergency response.

Relationships

Senior Officer - Communications will report to Manager – Communication of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, greater programme team including project teams under PPC Directorate and organisation’s priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both programme and operational.

Required Educational Qualification and Experiences
Education

  • Graduation in Mass Communication, Fine Arts, English, IT, CSE, Social Science and relevant fields. A Master's in the mentioned subjects will be an added value.

Experience

  • At least 03-04 years of professional experience in media or communication or development sector in a reputed organisation.
  • Good leadership qualities and administrative capabilities.
  • Must be an excellent team player and experienced in managing a diverse team.
  • Training on professional writing, i.e. media reporting, media article, case study/story, press release and content writing etc

Technical Skill

  • Excellent language skills in both English and Bengali.
  • Skills of Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Premier Pro. Experience with Mid-Journey, MS Copilot will add value.
  • Able to take decisions in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly.
  • Skills in negotiation and communication with the external communication service providers/ consultants.
  • Skills in basic photography and video shooting
