Expression of Interest for Pre-qualification of Partner NGOs
ActionAid Bangladesh is inviting EoI from eligible local NGOs working in Patharghata Upazila under Barguna District for implementing a youth led project titled, Action4Transformation (A4T): Youth for rights, resilience, and redistribution in fragile context. ActionAid Bangladesh will work with targeted communities at Patharghata Upazila from June 2022. The purpose of the EoI is to take stock of NGOs working in above mentioned area as part of requirement for partnership appraisal of ActionAid Bangladesh.

About ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB):
ActionAid Bangladesh is a member of ActionAid International Federation which works in 48 countries across the globe. ActionAid Bangladesh started its journey from the coastal district of Bhola in 1983, now present in over 13 districts with a mission to “to achieve social justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication by working with people living in poverty and exclusion, their communities, people’s organisations, activities, social movements and supporters”. AAB adopted Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) to address injustice to people living in poverty and exclusion.
Description on Nature of Partnership:
The partnership is meant to mobilise and facilitate youth led intervention at local level to claim rights and developed resilience of the marginalized climate vulnerable communities, including the young women under the Action4Transformation (A4T) Project. Below are the given project objectives to be achieved thorough the intervention during the period of 2022-2025, however, yearly renewable based on the performance.
Strategic objectives of the proposed project:
SO-1: Young people, especially women, and marginalised people living in fragile contexts enjoy fundamental rights through improved access to well-resourced programmes and public services.
SO-2: Young people, especially women, and marginalised people living in fragile contexts enjoy improved, sustainable livelihoods through climate accountable governments and alternatives that build climate resilience.
SO-3: Young people, especially women, and marginalised people are resilient to shocks and enjoy their right to protection in fragile situations, disasters and protracted crises.
According to the Human Rights Based Approach the project is opted to develop capacity of the marginalized young people, including the young women, engage them with the various service providing institutions to claim service to address the fragility and vulnerability because of climate change. Youth led advocacy, campaign and innovation would be the key implementing the project objectives. In the partnership period AAB will support the implementing grassroots partners to capacity development thematically and organization development process.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Legal entity: Registered with NGO Affairs Bureau and The Department of Social Services.
- Not for profit organization. Organizations driven by micro-credit programmes are discouraged.
- Having track record of work following human rights-based approach.
- Having transparent management and accounting system in place.
- Track record on youth engagement and support activities as well as community development programme. Research and policy work particularly on youth issues are highly expected.
- Having experience on youth led project intervention including public service accountability, climate action and social protection issues.
- Working experience with the excluded communities like young people, especially young women and marginalised people living in fragile contexts.
