Interactive Theatre Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible Interactive Theatre Assistant who will help to create theatrical creative tool (interactive theatre, drama, to aware different groups including youth and community). She/He will assist the development of creative stories/drama from information collected from the community that focus on empowerment and equitable power relationships within the household and Community. Interactive Theatre assistant will also apply theatrical approaches to engage Local communities to support project agenda and issues that will be raised within groups/clubs and through performances. Likewise, He/she will work closely with community, partners, and staff on ensuring friendly theatrical communication tools are developed and implemented.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)

• Assist to ensure effective performance of theatre group through Drama group formation, development, and regular practice.
• Responsible for communicating with the cast, crew, and the project team.
• Assist to Theatre expert to preparing scripts, materials target audience.
• Assist to Theatre expert and project team to find out Drama / Video objectives in an effective delivery Method.
• Ensure effective delivery of all theatre, inter active theatre, Video show.
• Assist in monitoring the budget to ensure the expenditures stay within budgetary guidelines as per event plan.
• Ensures equipment is used in a safe manner.
• Responsible for Inventories and requisitions supply and equipment; recommends purchase of new equipment.
• Assist in Building Theatre Team.
• Organize to conduct the theatre training and rehearsal.
• Arrange the theatre/drama show.
• Create the organization’s program, selecting the shows that will be displayed during the session.
• Reports to the line manager on a regular basis to give an update on artistic activity and impact of interactive theatre in camp.

Relationships

The person holds this position will be reportable to Programme Officer.

Required Educational Qualification and Experiences

Education

• Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies, Drama and Dramatics or related field

Experience

• 1-2 years directly related experience/ Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge.

Required Competencies

• Local language proficiency and working knowledge of written and spoken English
• Facilitate the different process of capacity building activities of the project
• Ability to work independently and foster a team spirit
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Skills in report writing, documentation and presentation
• Gender sensitive and familiar with humanitarian principles, Human Rights Based Approach
• Good knowledge of using internet and software packages (i.e. MS Office, etc)
