Senior Officer/Officer - Reporting & Documentation

Project : Project : Rohingya Response

Salary and benefits : Monthly Gross Salary with other admissible benefits such as medical benefit,
mobile & modem allowance, and group life insurance etc.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

Functional

  • Support in reviewing the quality and donor compliance of the narrative reports developed by the programme teams.
  • Support in documenting programme concepts and designs focused on protection, in the Rohingya Refugee context.
  • Support in documenting programme leaning and programme quality findings based on which the programme teams will receive technical guidance towards quality implementation.

Technical:

  • Support to design and to conduct baseline study and action research.
  • Ensure compliance and quality of reports in line with AAB and donor requirements.

Documentation, Reporting and Dissemination

  • Support in documenting good practices, lessons and challenges of different project interventions in Rohingya programme.
  • Develop case studies and a clearly documented evidence base on the impacts of our work.
  • Review progress reports developed by the project teams in line with donor requirements and quality standards.
  • Any other tasks delegated by the thematic guide, also the functional line manager that is jointly agreed.
  • Active participation in different AAB events related to Rohingya Programme.

Relationships

Under the technical oversight and guidance of the MEAL Concern Person from MEAL Unit of AAB and overall supervision of the Head of Humanitarian Response, the Senior Officer/Officer - Monitoring, Accountability and Learning will undertake the following/aforementioned responsibilities and tasks but keeping in mind s/he should be flexible and able to adapt to the changing context and perform tasks as necessary related to the project.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • A university degree, preferably a graduate degree in relevant subject areas English, social sciences or related disciple. Experience in the sector will also be considered favorably.
  • At least 3 years of sound experience in project management especially with focus on reporting and documentation in the development sector.
  • Extensive hands on experience in supporting strategy and programme development
  • Extensive experience in working with NGOs and CSOs is preferred.
  • Experience with reporting and journalism is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in working on development programme quality and knowledge management is desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Good command over Bangla and English is a must. This includes, demonstrated competence skills in report writing and documentation in both the languages
  • Flexibility and ability to accommodate work pressure and meeting reporting deadlines;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge and use of internet, social media and software packages (i.e. MS Office, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MS Access, SPSS or similar database management/statistical software package will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Understanding of Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) and Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS)
  • Orientation re gender sensitivity.
  • Strong team player, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships within a distributed and dynamic team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work effectively across a wide variety of cultural contexts.
  • Strong skills in inter-personal communications, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a complex, multi-actor environment.
